Richard Lee "Dick" Naylor Sr.

1934 - 2023

Caldwell - Richard "Dick" was born in Mitchell, Nebraska to Harrison and Effie Naylor on July 23, 1934. Dick was the youngest of five children. His family moved to the Notus, Idaho area where Dick helped on the family farm until he was 16 years old, before relocating to California to work in a service station. Dick served two years in the United States Army during the Korean War. Following his military career he moved to Caldwell, Idaho married and had two children, Rich and Traci. He had various occupations; owned a wrecking yard in Boise and used car lot in Caldwell, operated heavy equipment for Hood Corp and various firms. Eventually, he started his own excavation and trucking company. He married Esther Harrold and added three more sons, Randy, Dan and Victor and their families. He spent many happy hours at the cabin in Donnelly playing cards, snowmobiling, and fishing. He especially enjoyed traveling to Canada and Alaska.

Dick never met a stranger and always had a joke to share; never the same one twice. His grandchildren brought him the most joy in life.

Dick is survived by his wife Esther; daughter, Traci Naylor, sons Randy (Connie) Harrold, Dan (Angela) Harrold and daughter-in-law Victoria Harrold, sister-in-laws, several nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son Rich, stepson Victor, his parents, brothers Charles and Glen, sisters Betty and Millie.

We will miss him and cherish all the memories we shared.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 31, 2023 at Dakan Funeral Chapel. Followed by a graveside at Canyon Hill Cemetery. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.dakanfuneralchapel.com
