When I was asked to be Rosemary´s Eucharist Minister,I could not turn the honor down. Like Tony Mais, I grew up in the same neighborhood. My brother, Karl Knudsen, spent many a day playing basketball with the Swansons.
As I got to know Rosemary better with my Sunday visits, I grew to love and respect her. She reminded me so much of my mother with her values and her great love for her family.
When rosemary was faced with many of her health challenges, she would explain to me that she wasn´t worried about the outcome because God was sitting close and that brought her great comfort.
Before I left each Sunday, she would tell me that she loved me and I would tell her the same. Some days it was hard to leave because we would be talking about life and the old neighborhood.
She dearly loved her sons, daughters-in-law, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She so admired the devotion they showed her.
When Rosemary was in the hospital the last time, my husband was in the hospital also. I left my husband early so that I could see her one last time.I did manage to see her and say a prayer for her. The rosary that she had in the hospital was gorgeous. I´m sure that brought her great comfort.
Rosemary became an important part of my life. I will miss this very dear woman.

I grew up just down the block from the Swansons. Spent many a day playing basketball in their backyard. Many fond memories with this wonderful family. You are all in my thoughts and prayers
