Sallie Weber Obituary

Salt Lake City, UT and formerly of Nampa - Those who knew her, or even had a passing acquaintance with her, understand what a bright light went out November 24th, when Sallie Elizabeth Weber died in her sleep. Sallie was in her family home in Nampa, Idaho recovering from a broken hip and broken femur. When she went to bed, a pulmonary embolism took her life swiftly and painlessly.

She turned 62 in November. Sallie grew up in Nampa schools including Nampa High School and Northwest Nazarene University. She taught at South Junior High for several years, loving her students and enjoying their love for her. She moved to Salt Lake City, earned a Master's Degree and became a licensed clinical social worker. She dedicated herself to elementary children at Foxboro elementary school in North Salt lake as a counselor, where she solved problems, nurtured children, and loved them with all her heart. A friend described her as "sunshine and pure joy." She would walk the halls greeting kids with, "Hey, good' lookin!" And they would answer back, "Miss Weber, Miss Weber!"

It is with heavy hearts that the family invites you to a viewing at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel, 415 12th Ave. So. on December 4th from 6 to 7 PM.. A Celebration of Life Service will be on May 5th at 11:00 AM at Nampa College Church, 504 E. Dewey Ave. in Nampa. Burial will follow at the Kohlerlawn Cemetery in Nampa.

Sallie was preceded in death by her mother, Ruthie Weber. She is survived by her loving family.

Miss Weber was the counselor at my elementary school. She would come in to our class about once a month and that was always my favorite. I´m not sure how it started but me and her had an inside joke where when she would walk in the door I would point at her with a funny look on my face and she would do it back. This carried on through the 5 years of elementary school that I knew her. One of the best people I had the privilege of knowing.

Although I did not know Sallie well, I remember her very well on the Northwest Nazarene College campus during our time there in the 80´s. She was always smiling & had such bright & friendly disposition. She consistently acknowledged me in passing & just was such a genuine person. She was hilarious in variety shows on campus & just brought a special "light" wherever she was. My condolences to the family in this time of loss & sorrow. Your loss is no doubt profound.

Miss Weber spoke of my child as if she was her favorite student. Now I can see she truly loved every child & they were all her favorite! My condolences to all whose life she made better.

Sallie and I worked together at Woods Cross Elementary and again T Foxboro Elementary. She was an amazing counselor and the students and staff adored her. She was a powerful influence for so many young people. She was a cherished friend. I loved our visits and my day was always better when she was in the building. I have so many wonderful memories with her, and I count her as one of my life-long friends. She was a gift to everyone she knew. I will miss her dearly.

Sallie was my precious niece, though she was more like sister, daughter, dear, dear friend. I know the quote Lynne referred to; from Byron Katie, it did not go as sh3, instead it was perfect. Sallie left us after enduring untold physical pain, but also left a hole that can't be filled. I hope her obit posts soon, knowing that those who barely knew her were never the same after being in her presence. Her smile says it all. It will be tough living without it. You will live ever day in the hearts of many. My own is bigger because of you, precious!

One more thing... Sallie taught me a saying that goes everywhere with me in this life full of expectations that rarely go as hoped...
"It wasn´t what I expected, instead it was perfect."
I can hear her saying it.
My deepest sympathies to the Weber family.

I am brokenhearted to hear this news. Sallie was a force of nature, one of the very funniest people I have ever known and someone willing to laugh in one sentence and go to the deepest places of your soul in the next. Her presence on this earth will be greatly missed. We love you "Sal the Gal"
