Thomas Penrod Obituary

Ornery, funny, and brave. If I wasn't, I would be no fun.
"When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling.
Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying."
He fought a brave battle over the past 2 1/2 years, but lost the battle on Sept. 4, 2010.
Thomas was born in Nome, AK. He lived as a young child in Nampa, Id., Spokane, Wa., Bethel, AK., and Pocatello, Id. He loved spending time with his Grandpa & Grandma Williams at their home in Donnelly and loved to tell stories about their adventures. Finally, settling as a young man in Nampa, Id. He spent 10 years working for Micron. Thomas loved his job and took great pride in it. When not at work, he loved hockey and took great pride in his Idaho Steelhead Jersey. He loved to spend time in the mountains, fishing whenever possible. He had the good fortune to spend a week fishing in Alaska with family & friends. The smile on his face as he pulled halibut into the boat will be one we will remember forever.
Tom was a very loyal person; if he loved you he would do anything he could to be there for you. He always had a crooked grin and a witty comment for you. If you needed a friend to listen, Tom was the man. A serious conversation never ended without laughing about something.
During the long battle of his illness his children kept him in the fight. The pride of his children was everything to Tom.
Thomas leaves behind his wife Grace, his sons Brandon Penrod (Nampa) and Daylin Penrod (Pocatello) two step children Audrie De Valle and Michael De Valle. He leaves behind his beloved sister, Wendy Bricker, Texas; their hour long phone calls will be missed. A sister Heather Rivas, Pennsylvania, and brother Johnathan Penrod, Oregon.
Tom was born to Michael Penrod, Saint Helens, OR. and Toni Williams Wood, Boise, ID. Tom leaves behind his step father Paul Mcleod, several Aunts, Uncles, and Nieces, Nephews and lots and lots of friends. He was preceded in death by his Grandfather Williams Penrod and Grandparents Tom and Marie Williams.
A celebration for Tom's life will held on Friday, September 10, 2010, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., and a final tribute at 6 p.m.. The celebration will be held at Toni & Paul's home, 1715 N. Laurel, Boise, Idaho 83706. We invite all of his friends and family to stop by and share a favorite story.

Tom was a wonderful young man and Nephew and had so much to offer in this life. He had the wonderful ability to make people smile, he is now looking down on all of us being our guardian angel. My heart goes out to his mom (Toni) and his sister (Wendy). Tom was loved more than he could have known and is missed dearly

I am so sorry to hear of Tom's passing.
He was my trainer at Micron and very quickly became one of my closest friends. He was such a great person and had a wonderful sense of humor. He will be truly missed.

My big brother. I have fond memories of when I was little of him harassing me with a scary face mask. Although I hated it then, its funny now. It's true that he was always funny, and loving, and just all around awesome. It's a shame he's gone, but he is no longer in pain. I had hoped he would get to meet my husband at least once, but we did not get to make it out there.. I wish I had kept in better contact. I love ya big bro, and hope you are happy wherever you are.

All I remember most about Tommy was his big smile. I wanted to pay my condolenses to Toni and to Tom Williams. I don't remember him much as I only saw him when he was a little kid when I was formerly married to his Uncle Steve Penrod. Thanks, Sue (formerly Penrod) Sizen

I worked with Thomas at MPC for about 3 years. He had a quiet voice until you got to know him. We had some great times joking around and he always worked very hard and dilligently. Although we were unable to stay in touch over the course of time I will still consider him my friend and he is missed.
