Violet Jean Helm

1933 - 2012

Violet Jean Helm, 78, a loving Mother, Grandma, Sister and Auntie joined her Heavenly Father on March 10, 2012. She fought a long hard battle. She was a fighter from the start to finish, living on her own until very recently.
Jean was born in Belfield, N.D. on July 10, 1933, to George and Hilda Schuhrke. She moved to Plentywood, M.T. in 1951 where she lived with her older sister, Edna Rovig. She graduated from Plentywood High School in 1952.
In March 1953 she married John W. Elliott of Nampa, Idaho, stationed at Fortuna, N.D. In 1960 she married Robert Helm. Jean was blessed with five beautiful children.
At the center of her life was an abiding belief in the gospel of Jesus Christ. She had an unyielding faith, calling on and wholeheartedly believing in her Savior, even during her darkest moments of suffering.
Jean enjoyed camping, fishing and family gatherings. She touched so many lives leading many to Christ. She had a comforting voice, a beautiful smile and a loving heart that will be forever missed.
She is survived by her sister, Edna Egersdorf of Nampa; a brother, Vernon Schuhrke of Texas; her sons: John Elliott of Nampa, Bruce (Randa Penn) Elliott of CO., and Scott (Melanie) King of Boise; her daughters: Debbie (Ken) Luther of Nampa, Kaylene Helm of Caldwell and her step-daughter Carmen (Virgil) Dunn of Tillamook, OR.; 12 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 15 great, great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by 2 grandsons, 3 siblings and 2 nephews.
The family wishes to thank her nurse Sandra Jones and staff of Hearts For Hospice for all their loving care.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, March 16, 2012, at the Christian Faith Center, 31 S. Midland Blvd. Nampa. A viewing will be held from 5-8 pm. Thursday at Zeyer Funeral Chapel, 83 N. Midland Blvd. Nampa. Burial will be at Kohlerlawn Cemetery, Nampa.
