Wayne Breshears Obituary

WAYNE M. BRESHEARS
August 17, 1923 - May 9, 2016
Wayne Melvin Breshears was born August 17, 1923 in Ola, Idaho to Jesse Anderson Breshears and Etta Viola Perkins. He passed away May 9, 2016 in Emmett, Idaho.
Wayne grew up in the small ranching community of Ola. He had one sister, Louise, ten years younger than him.
Wayne joined the Seabees during World War II, serving in Okinawa. He worked and retired after 30 years of service with Boise Cascade as maintenance and construction lead. He was good at his work at Boise Cascade and was very well thought of. He was also a guy who liked to play jokes on the people he worked with.
On October 25, 1946 he married Blanche Packer. They had six children and later divorced. Wayne later married Dorthy Lake who brought three children to the family, Larry Lake, Ramona Hunt, and Diane Wright.
In 1964, Wayne joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He had many callings in the church. The calling he enjoyed and talked about most was his calling as a home teacher. He spoke with fondness of many of the people he visited. Wayne was a hard worker all his life. He was a builder, a farmer, and a trouble shooter. He loved Louie LaMour books and John Wayne movies.
Wayne is preceded in death by his parents and his sons, David and Dana. He is survived by his wife, Dorthy; children, Kathy (Larry) Morriss of Denver CO, Christy (Andy) Little of Emmett, Wayne (Jeri) of Phoenix, AZ, Wynne (Cindy) of Meridian and his three stepchildren, Larry (Cindy) Lake, Ramona (Ken) Hunt and Diane (Kevin) Wright. He had numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and a great-great grandchild.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (980 W. Central Rd.) in Emmett with viewing available the hour prior to services. Viewing will also be available on Monday from 3:00 - 6:00 PM at the Potter Funeral Chapel in Emmett. Burial will follow services at the Emmett Cemetery.
