Alan Brumfield Obituary

BLACKFOOT - Alan Lee Brumfield, 65, passed away peacefully in his home, Thursday, August 19, 2010, surrounded by his family, following a long courageous battle with a serious illness.
Lee was born in American Falls on December 25, 1944 to Vernon and Betty Rae Brumfield. Lee was the younger brother to Ray Brumfield. Growing up Lee attended Snake River School and worked at his parents business Vernon's 66 in Pingree. He enjoyed spending time with his brother, friends, and family. While in high school Lee met Vicki Lee Grimmett, they began dating and after high school were eventually married.
After high school Lee attended Idaho State University, taking the Auto Mechanic course and was part of the Idaho National Guard. He worked for his father driving truck and later purchased his own truck and formed his business, Southern Idaho Supply. Lee and Vicki settled in Moreland, where they moved both their residence and business and still reside there today. Over the years his business flourished based on his hard work and desire to provide for his family. 
Lee played just as hard as he worked. He enjoyed snow and water skiing, hunting, fishing, golfing, camping, classic cars and going for drives. Later in life Lee found much joy in spending time with his grandchildren and watching them grow-up.
After retiring Lee and Vicki enjoyed spending there summers in Mackay, Idaho establishing new friendships and scouting new country while riding their four wheelers.
Lee is survived by his wife of 44 years Vicki Lee Brumfield; sons: Kyle Lee (Rachel) Brumfield, Ryan Lane (Terri) Brumfield, Jared Kip (Christina) Brumfield, and Jeff (Judy) Katseanes; brother, Ray (Shirley) Brumfield; sister-in-law, Beverly Brumfield; grandchildren Tristen Brumfield, Ty Brumfield, Keva Brumfield, Travis Brumfield, Hannah Brumfield, Lane Brumfield, Chantell Gardner, Brock Katseanes, Tyson Katseanes, Jaron Katseanes, Alex Katseanes, and great grandson, Copper Gardner.
Lee was preceded in death by daughter, Lisa Ann Brumfield; father, Vernon Ray Brumfield; and mother, Betty Rae Brumfield.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 23, 2010, at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 South Schilling Avenue in Blackfoot, with Bishop Mark Adams conducting. The family will meet with friends and relatives from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m Sunday, August 22, 2010 and again for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Riverside-Thomas Cemetery.

We are so sorry about Lee's passing. He was always friendly and gracious, with a smile and a kind word. He obviously cared about his family a great deal, and he certainly seemed to enjoy and relish life. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.
