Daniel Clark Obituary

Daniel Norman Clark, 45, passed away Saturday February 17, 2024. Dan, a Pocatello native, born to Norman & Sandra Wilson Clark, grew up with friends and family calling him Danny. Always of a curious nature, Dan spent his life soaking up facts and finding a deep appreciation of history. Service and grammar were things Dan's mom drilled into him. A day didn't go by without Dan offering to help someone with their groceries. And to his wife's (Brittany) chagrin, there wasn't a day when he didn't correct her grammar! (Which he received many eye rolls for).

Dan's most proud achievement was being a father to his two wonderful sons. He loved playing games, cooking, rough housing, teasing, watching football, and doing other family activities. He tried to be the best example to have faith and advocate for mental health. Dan was a faithful and active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and loved his ward family.

Dan was loud and proud of who he was. He was honest with the things he did and shared. He always stood out in a crowd, thanks to his unbelievable red hair and 6'5" frame. He was the comedian with a classic Dad joke, the grocery store dancer, the fashion stylist for his wife, the Jedi master, the humble man, and a gentle giant. A Scotsman to the bone (with a kilt to boot!).

He leaves behind his loving wife, Brittany; his two sons Nolan and Oliver; his beloved dog Bella; his mother Sandy and stepdad Russell Nugent, his aunts & uncles, and his grandmother. Recently added to his family: parents-in-law Jeff & Marsha Daniels, four sisters-in-law and their spouses, and 15 nieces and nephews.

Dan will be truly missed.

The family will visit with friends and family on Sunday evening March 3, from 5:00 pm -7:00 pm at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 South Shilling, in Blackfoot. Funeral Services will be held Monday March 4 11:00 am at the Holman Ward Chapel, 300 East Chapel Rd, Pocatello. The family will visit with friends and family from 10:00 am - 10:45 am prior to the service.

Burial will be in the Malad City Cemetery Monday afternoon

Thank you Dan, for being the rock that I needed when my life seemed to slip away. Thank you for always keeping me strong when I thought I couldn´t be. Your words of encouragement will never be forgotten neither will be you humor.

My heart goes out for your family. Even though Dan went through so many hard times in his life he knew he was loved in the end. I can only remember how he told me how lonely he felt before he met his wife and I`m so glad they found each other.

My deepest condolences. I`m praying for all of you.

Not sure what to say. This knocked the wind out of me hard and fast. He was ever so kind. No matter what kind of day he had he ALWAYS tried to brighten up someone else. A true ray of light in this world. He is severely missed by many that his presence has touched. A genuinely good person. You will be missed Dan. Miss you.

Dan was always a good friend, and was extremely kind and considerate of others feelings and especially those that struggled post-abuse. He will be missed by so very many. I am so sorry for the loss of this man to his wife and children, mother, and all that loved him. Praying for peace and comfort for everyone affected by Dan no longer being in this world.

Dan was special, he was kind, he was compassionate, he was funny, he was naive, he was generous, he was caring, and he loved as big as he was tall. His laugh was infectious, and he never paused to lift you up when you needed the boost. He was a supportive friend, yet one who would tell you when you were acting a fool. I will always remember Dan, I will always remember his laugh, his smile, and the way he enfolded me into a group with some of the most amazing people I’ve had the privilege to know.
I’m so sorry for his family’s loss, for his boys and his mom. He shared with us his love for you and I hope on the darkest days you can remember only moments of joy with him.
