Floyd Farnsworth Obituary

Floyd Delwin Farnsworth, 90, passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2019. He was born August 4, 1929 in Sharon, Bear Lake, Idaho to Lewis Franklin Farnsworth and Rosetta Hansen Farnsworth. He went to work for George Shiozawa on his farm at the age of 14 and continued working there until he was drafted into the Army. He loved his country, was very patriotic, and proud to have served in the Korean War.

Delwin was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. On March 9, 1953 he took Marjorie Sutcliffe home from church, they were married on August 1, 1953. On February 19, 1960 they were sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple. They both served in the church in various callings and especially loved serving in the Idaho Falls Temple for over 7 years.

Delwin worked out of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Hall as a welder and fitter. He was a foreman while working on building the American Falls Dam. He retired in 1992.

Delwin and Marjorie loved camping, hiking, biking, and canoeing. Delwin loved doing things with his family, traveling, photography, reading, woodworking, and always striving to learn. He loved history, both church and country, and had a deep testimony of the gospel. He was active and quite healthy until his 90th birthday.

Delwin and Marjorie had six children: Marla (Brian) Wells (both deceased), Sandra (Lynn) Watson, Alan C. (Lisa), Steven J. (Karen), Jeffery Taylor (deceased), and Scott D. (Lindsey); nine grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his two children, his parents, and three brothers: Lewis, Merion, and Ronald. He is survived by his wife and four children and three sisters-in-law. He will be greatly missed.
