Frederick May Obituary

Frederick C. May
October 9, 1932 - May 10, 2016
Frederick Charles May was born October 9, 1932 in Livingston, Montana. He passed away May 10, 2016 at Brookdale Chubbuck.
Fred's parents were Fred Haley May and Geraldine Leathers but after his parents' divorce, Fred was raised by his father, maternal grandparents, aunts, uncles and his father's friends. When he was about six, another family became an additional part of his childhood. Berniece and Arlen Harris and their children became Fred's second family.
After graduating from Park County High School in 1952, Fred entered the U.S. Navy. He was released in 1955 and entered Montana State College. He had a BS in education from MSU and a Master's in Education from Idaho State University. In 1964 he married Sally Lynne Olsen and they had two children: Michael May (Pocatello) and Kelly Richmond (Boise). Fred taught in School District #25 from 1966 until 1994. Both of his children followed in their parents footsteps and also became teachers.
Fred is survived by his wife, his two children, and four grandchildren: Dylan and Josh Richmond and Michelle and Andrew May.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Brookdale Chubbuck, 4080 Hawthorne Road. A celebration of his life will be held later this summer in Mackay, Idaho.
Memories and condolences may be shared with his family online at wilksfuneralhome.com.
