George Dillon Obituary

George Dillon was truly a man of the earth who embraced all of life's challenges with an undaunting spirit.

He was born October 28, 1945 as the 4th child of a large family and grew up in Pocatello, Idaho. He graduated from ISU and afterwards joined the army. He became a skilled helicopter pilot with the airborne division and served our nation in the Vietnam war. After his military service he continued his piloting career with the forestry department and later in the private sector. George was a Jack of all trades and lived the life of many people. From military life to living off the land in his teepee and learning from his Native American friends on the Indian reservation to living in the big cities in western Washington and finally living the country life in the wooded acres of eastern Washington.

He was always up for a challenge and dipped his hands in almost everything. He was a talented pilot, businessman, fisherman, carpenter, mechanic, cook, electrician, forester and farmer to name a just a few.

He was well loved and got along with most everyone.

Anyone who spent time with him always has fond stories to tell. His crooked smile and life stories are impossible to forget.

George was able to retire the way he wanted with his wife Valorie in eastern Washington. He formed the Dillon tree farm and built a beautiful home nestled among the pine trees he loved. He was never an idle man and always had projects in the works.

He passed away on March 8, 2025 at the age of 79.

He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He influenced many people and our lives will always be richer because of his presence.
