Griffith Harman Obituary
Jay was born April 21, 1945 in Blackfoot, Idaho to Griffith and Gladys Herbst Harman. He was raised on a farm in Thomas Idaho along with 3 sisters and one brother.
Jay attended school in Snake River and graduated from Blackfoot High School. He attended college at the University of Idaho.
He served in the U.S Army National Guard Battalion in Vietnam from 1968 to 1969.
Jay was owner and manager of Kentucky Fried Chicken for many years along with many other business adventures.
Jay is the father of two sons Kell Harman of Idaho Falls and Mark Harman. Jay is survived by his companion of 39 years Jeanne Bales, his two sons and two step daughters Jennafer Hopkins and Courtney Mickelsen. Nine Grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
He is also survived by two sisters, Rhea Weins and Irene Lamont, and one brother Ralph Harman.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Fonda Harman.
Funeral services will take place 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 10, 2025 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Avenue in Blackfoot. A viewing will take place before the service starting at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow in the Grove City Cemetery, 1 Willow Drive in Blackfoot.
