Heidi Hernandez Obituary

Heidi LoAve Hernandez, 52, of Pocatello, Idaho, passed away peacefully at home on August 26, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on May 19, 1973, in Pocatello to Sally Garton and Richard Hernandez.

From childhood, Heidi's passion for horses shone brightly. At just 14, she became the youngest recipient of the Idaho State Horsemanship Award. She competed in barrel racing and English riding, and was an active member of the Choctaw Riding Club and 4-H, often accompanied by her grandparents Ray and LoAve Garton. Heidi graduated from Highland Senior High School and later shared her love of horses with her daughters, LoAve and Kenisha.

Her greatest joy in life was raising her children Jenna, LoAve, Anthony, and Kenisha and becoming a proud grandmother of 8. She cherished the time with her grandchildren and delighted in being part of their lives. Known for her nurturing spirit, Heidi also worked as a preschool teacher at Immanuel Lutheran in Twin Falls, where her creativity and warmth touched many children and families. Her faith and love of God guided all that she did.

Heidi faced an eight-year battle with colorectal cancer with courage and unwavering faith.

She is survived by her children: Jenna (Rhett) Bryant, LoAve (Richard) Feurer, Anthony Meier, and Kenisha Christian; her grandchildren: Boston, Aurora, Avelyn, Declan, Brevin, Freya, Soren, and Bennett; her mother, Sally Thomson; her father, Richard (Georgia) Hernandez; and her sisters: Christina England, Katrina (Marco) Darner, Angela (Jake) Hendricks, and Allie Hernandez. She is also survived by her many cousins, nieces and nephews. Heidi was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ray Roy and LoAve Garton, and Alvino and Angela Marie Hernandez.

Services will be held on September 13, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Pocatello Christian Outreach Center, 1435 N Main St, Pocatello, Idaho. Flower arrangements coordinated by Christine's Floral. Memories and condolences may be shared by visiting wilksfuneralhomes.com.
