Kelly Laga Obituary

Kelly passed away on June 16, 2022, of pancreatic cancer. He was many things in his life-a wonderful husband, dedicated father, inspirational educator, accomplished horseman, avid outdoorsman, skilled wood worker, and gentleman farmer. He was a man with an insatiable love for life, an ever-inquisitive mind, and an addiction to playing (outside if possible). He was always busy and worked as hard has he played. He is already greatly missed by his wife, Debbie, his seven children, and 19 grandchildren. We will celebrate Kelly's life on July 16th, 2022, at the LDS church in Stevensville, MT, (100 Middle Burnt Fork Rd), at 2:00 pm MST.

My Great Aunt Darlene, Kelly's mom, spoke so highly of Kelly. She had such a sweet voice and her eyes twinkled when she shared her love of him. Love, Cheryl (Cleo Bunnell's dtr)

My very first memory of Brother Laga was my first day of Seminary when I started high school. We were studying the Doctrine and Covenants that year. I will always remember the amount of energy that he always managed to put into his seminary lessons for his students.

I was one of his seminary students during the school year of 2014 and 2015. He was a very loving and energetic teacher. I will always miss his lessons about the Prophet Joseph Smith

Ben, you did a beautiful job on your dad obituary! My heart has been aching for each and every one of you Laga children, spouses, and grandchildren, most especially for my sister Debbie! I hold a special place in my heart for each of you as you mourn the loss of your dad. He gave you kids an incredible gift of learning how to work with your hands, and how to be independent. In a world where so much is required, you all have the gift of knowing how to do the work. I Love Each and Every One of You as my family, and I pray for peace and comfort for you. I wish I could give all of you a hug! Love, Aunt Dari

My heart goes out to the Laga family!! I don´t have a ton of memories with Kelly but I do remember him when I was younger and always thought he was a really down to earth and overall amazing individual. I´ve never been much for prayer but I will definitely send one out for both him and the family. RIP Kelly!!!

Kelly was an influence of good for our family; especially Nathan, Duane and " the other Kelly".
Many memories of Kelly: building the stair rail in our house in Hayden, our family coming for 4th of July and helping to wire your house in Robin, he brought deep discussion to Gospel Doctrine class, coaching our boys´ soccer team, teaching, telling stories, being a great example of what a good leader is, his shared admiration of John Denver, and so much more! Kelly was wise and knew how to stay quiet when needed and when to speak up. He used similar tactics on Boy Scouts as he did on horses ;) I love that he trusted people to be capable and able to do hard things, he knew the value of intrinsic knowing. I was thinking that the world was a better place because Kelly was born and lived his life influencing and leading and teaching. It is sad he is not physically here but I know his influence has been felt by so many! I think Kelly loved his family best! I didn´t get to see him as a grandpa but I bet his grandkids loved their grandpa and I bet he loved them back!!
My love and thoughts are with all of you, Laga family!!
I´m sorry your sweetheart and your dad and grandpa is not physically here. Grief is hard... I wish you all some peace and happy memories as you remember Kelly. ((Hugs)) to all of you.
