Kirk Bailey Obituary

Kirk Widdison Bailey
August 22, 1956 - November 7, 2017
The Happiest Man in the World
Kirk Widdison Bailey was the happiest man in the world, and why wouldn't he be? He knew the recipe to true happiness, "love others, help others, surround yourselves with friends, and study, live & share the teachings of Christ" …a legacy passed down from his parents, Donald and Mildred Bailey.
Kirk loved the Lord and the gospel. He knew God had a plan for everyone and loved sharing it with the people of Peru. Many callings followed Kirk through his life; he answered all of them with Love, Service, Excitement and Hard Work. He was especially happy when teaching gospel truths he'd discovered.
He married the beautiful, sassy, talented, Ann Luke. Equal in confidence but superior in talent, Ann aimed for the stars and Kirk was a willing partner. Together they spread their love through song & theater. With Ann by his side, Kirk was the happiest man in the world.
They started a family: Nicholas, Luke, Marren, Stuart, Rachel, Warren, Blythe, Hope, Reba & Adelaide. Every child, like their talented parents, unique & different in their approach. The Bailey family is a machine-unified, happy and full of love. With the many grandchildren, Ann started Cousin Camp for the younger kids; Kirk began Priesthood Camp for the older ones. It's a big hit and they are well on their way to changing their homes, the community, the nation and the world. No wonder Kirk was the happiest man in the world.
Kirk worked hard to support his big family, never idle, always the creator, inventor-ever questioning and tinkering. He could tear a car apart and make the two-bit thing run again. While others were impressed with their new car and huge car payments, Kirk would radiate when he brought the dead back to life and got another 50,000 miles out of that two-bit car. Kirk could fix anything, build anything-reckoning back to a time when everyone knew a little about everything; a rare man in an ever-changing world. He never was bitter about changes around him, lost jobs or bad luck; he just worked harder to make the good luck come his way. Always with a smile and the "Hey, what do ya know?" or "What's Up?", he was the happiest man in the world.
There's a big hole in the world today; something you never realize until he's missing because we never could imagine a world without Kirk in it-invincible and ever ready. He left this world Tuesday, Nov 7th when one of those resurrected cars hit a patch of black ice and rolled, killing him instantly. But Kirk is here with his arm around each of us and that smile. He would say, "Fill that hole with Love, help somebody and make a friend-today. Things are going to be OK."
Yes, Kirk Bailey was the happiest man in the world because of his family & his faith.
A viewing will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov 14th at Wilks Funeral Home 211 W. Chubbuck Rd, Chubbuck, Idaho. Ann

We were so sorry to hear about your husband. We know how much you will all miss him. May all of your memories of times spent together bring you comfort in the time ahead and may you and your family feel the love of Christs arms wrapped around you giving you strength each day.

You are such a blessing to so many kids, Ann there at Franklin. As grandparents to Taylor Johnson we
had the opportunity to attend many of your concerts. She is, because of your influence, still going strong at Highland in the choir and sends her sympathies to you as well. You will be in our thoughts and prayers.

Dear Ann; We are so saddened at the loss of your husband. As a singer in DPAC I have loved watching you play and share your wonderful musical talents. I am amazed that you are the mother of 10 children and have such a wonderful husband and family. You have many people praying for you and your family. We love you! Christine Snyder

Marren, Jeff and Family. Our condolences and prayers for you all and your family. What a dynamic guy! I knew the first time I met Kirk Bailey that I recognized his nervous energy and helpful spirit. Always needing to act , be, contribute, provide... Need I keep going with the superlatives? The first observance that our clock in High Priests Group had not been set to standard time on 11-5-2017 had him up on his feet claiming that duty. He introduced himself and was quite engaging in our lesson. I felt immediately at home with that kindred. What a great guy!!

Dear Ann,

I am mourning with you and you are constant in my prayers along with your family. We are so blessed to have the gospel of Jesus Christ in our lives and to know that Kirk's happiness & bright light of love shines on, that he is near you and now will continue his journey, protecting, guiding & watching over you and your family from a different realm. It will not divide you but give you more strength to carry on. For your light and his light is not divided but unified and enduring through the adversities and sufferings to shine & come forth in glory.

Even though I only met Kirk once I could tell you two are and will continue to be amazing people. I want you to know what an inspiring blessing you have been in my life the short time I have known you. I feel like you are truly my sister who I have known forever. You create heaven on earth just being in your presence and every time I hear you sing I know you are an angel sent to earth to provide a safe, loving & peaceful place with Heavenly Father's vibrations.

Thank you for being YOU & being my co-worker & friend. I Love You!
