LaPriel Wixom Obituary

It is with emotions of sadness, yet gratefulness for her having lived a wonderful life, that we announce the passing of LaPriel on May 25, 2023, after a battle with cancer.

She was born on February 7, 1945, in Preston, ID, to George & Florence Condie. She had one brother Gary (Myrna) Condie of Santa Clarita, CA, and two sisters Colleen (Rex) Thomas of Morgan, UT, and Jeannie (Mike) Katseanes of Blackfoot, ID.

She graduated from Snake River High School and went on to graduate from the College of Cosmetology. Lapriel was a self-employed Cosmetologist, a cook at Fort Hall Elementary School, and she worked at the Telephone Company, the Milmor Hotel, and a Realty Company.

LaPriel married Russell Knight and had her first son Doni. Later, she married Kay Wixom, her husband of 50 years, in the Idaho Falls Temple. She had four more sons: Sandon (Jenny), Wade (Michaelene), Wes (Ashlee), and Adam (Lindi), all of Blackfoot, and one daughter Annie (Lane Lambert) of Scottsdale, AZ. She also had three foster children: Toby Goodbird, Dion Mason, and Lyle Uses Arrow Jr. She has 22 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

LaPriel was devoted to her faith and loved serving in various Church callings over the years. She was a kind and loving person with a great sense of humor. Her greatest joy and achievement was being the heart of the family. She enjoyed time with her family and was deeply involved in her children's and grandchildren's lives. Her home was always open for friends and family to visit.

She was preceded in death by her parents George and Florence Condie and brother Gary E. Condie.

She is survived by her husband Kay of Blackfoot, 6 children, 22 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and 2 siblings Colleen Thomas and Jeannie Katseanes.

The family would like to thank all of those who were critical to LaPriel's care in her final months of life.

A viewing will be held at 5:30 pm on Friday, June 2nd, 2023 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 South Shilling Avenue in Blackfoot, Idaho.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am with a viewing one hour prior on Saturday, June 3rd, 2023 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 900 Riverton Rd. in Blackfoot, Idaho.
