Loren Llewellyn Drake
	FILER - Loren Llewellyn Drake, 75, of Filer, passed away Monday, October 5, 2009, at St. Luke's Magic Valley Medical Center.  
	Loren was born at the Twin Falls hospital on October 30, 1933, to Loren G. and Maecil Beeman Drake. He was raised on the family farm at Filer, graduating from Filer High School in 1952. Loren felt the call for the ministry while still in high school, so he began his studies at Linfield College from 1952-1955. He served as a local lay preacher for the Castleford Methodist Church. He also attended the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California from 1962-1963, and SMU's Perkins School of Theology in Dallas, Texas.  
	He served six years for the California Conference of the Methodist Church, serving congregations in LeGrande, Cathy's Valley, Kernville, and Potter Valley, California. He received his deacon's orders while in California. When he returned to Idaho, he continued studies at Idaho State University, where he received a B.A. degree in speech and drama. Loren also did graduate work in puppetry and special dramatics for children.  
	As a resident of Pocatello, he became very involved in church and civic activities. He was named Pocatello's Volunteer of the Year for 2004.  
	Loren is survived by his sister, Marjorie Annis of Twin Falls; nephews, Kelly Annis of Twin Falls and Ron (Chong) Annis of Kimberly, Gordon Annis of Vicksburg, Miss.; a niece, Jeanette (Richard) Cox of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and numerous great-nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister, and a niece.
	A special thank-you goes out to Home Care Options, and the outstanding caregivers, Teresa and Jaque. "You have been very special!" Also a thank-you to Twin Falls Care Center and your staff for the past four months.
	In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made in Loren's name to the First United Methodist Church of Twin Falls at 360 Shoshone St. E., Twin Falls, Idaho 83301, or the First United Methodist Church of Pocatello at P.O. Box 4015, Pocatello, Idaho 83205, or to a charity of your choice.
	A celebration of life will be held for Loren at 3 p.m., Saturday, October 10, 2009, at the Filer Cemetery, Filer, Idaho. Pastor Phil Airhart of the First United Methodist Church of Twin Falls will officiate. A remembrance service will also be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, October 11, 2009, at the First United Methodist Church in Pocatello. Cremation and services are under the direction of Serenity Funeral Chapel, Twin Falls.
