Norma Badger Obituary

Norma Lloyd Badger, 92, passed away on Monday, May 20, 2024 from injuries sustained in a fall. Norma was born August 26, 1931, in Bancroft, Idaho to Daniel H. and Alfretta Denton Lloyd. Norma graduated from Grace High School in 1949 where she participated in band and girls chorus.

Norma attended business school and worked most of her life as a secretary, starting at The Letter Shop as a stenographer, then at Garrett Freight Lines and finally retiring from J.R. Simplot Co. after 27 yrs. of exemplary service. She made many wonderful friends while working for Simplot some of whom she remained close to throughout her life.

She married Joe Badger on May 27, 1955. They lived most of their life in Pocatello, except for four years in Oklahoma where they managed a local motel. This was a cherished time together as a family.

Norma loved her children and grandchildren and creating their favorite treats. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day-Saints serving in many capacities, including a two-year mission at the local Distribution Center. She was a voracious reader and loved spending hours in her gardens and canning the fruits of her harvest. She's probably best known for a lifetime of constant quiet service to others and sweet notes of encouragement and love to everyone she knew.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents, husband (Joe) and her brothers Dan and Lee (Lloyd). She is survived by her two sons Joe (Kathy) Badger, and Michael (Sahar) Badger, 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

A viewing and visitation will be held Thursday evening, May 30th, from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. in the Cornelison Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint chapel at 954 East Walnut Street, in Pocatello, Idaho, on Friday, May 31, at 11:00 a.m. with a viewing from 10 - 10:45 a.m.

Per Norma's suggestion, contributions may be made to Primary Children's Hospital in lieu of flowers.

As long as I can remember, I knew Norma because she was my Uncle Dan's sister. She was a lovely and nice lady. My condolences to your family. Mary Jo Whitehead Mulick

Aunt Norma was always kind, gracious and thoughtful. Her and Uncle Joe were like my big brother and sister. I miss her very much
