Robert Wood Obituary

Robert Marvin Wood
July 21, 1976 - April 16, 2014
Robert Marvin Wood, 37, passed away on 16 April 2014, in Pocatello, Idaho. He was born on 21 July 1976, in Boise, Idaho to Kenneth Marvin Wood and Joanne Powers Poole.
Robert grew up in Idaho. He graduated from Borah High School in Boise, Idaho in 1995. He was a strong supporter of the Scouting program and earned his Eagle Award.
Robert was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After high school, he served an LDS Mission to the Deaf in New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles.
Robert's Bachelor's (2004) and Master's (2006) degrees were completed at Cal State Northridge. Robert and Emma graduated with their Master's degrees the same day in 2006. He completed his Doctorate at Idaho State University in 2013. Robert worked as an Interpreter for the Deaf at BYU-Idaho and formerly as Assistant Director of Disability Services at ISU.
Robert married Emma Frost on 18 August 2001 in the San Diego, California Temple. They were happily married for 12 years. His family was his highest priority. He enjoyed being with friends, and participating in athletics, especially basketball. He was a passionate advocate for the Deaf community.
Robert left this earth with a firm testimony of Christ and the Resurrection. This was shown by the dedicated service in the many leadership callings he held in the Church.
Robert is survived by his spouse Emma of Pocatello, Idaho; his children, Cosette, age 10, Isaac, age 7, Ethan, age 6 and Sarah, age 2 of Pocatello, his parents, sisters, numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives.
A funeral service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 2140 Satterfield Dr. in Pocatello at 12:00 PM, Monday, 21 April 2014, with a visitation held an hour prior. Visitation will be held at Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel 510 N. 12th Ave. Pocatello from 7-9pm 20 April 2014. Burial will follow the funeral at the Mountain View Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel or the Robert Wood Memorial Fund at the ISU Credit Union. Condolences may be left on Robert Marvin Wood's online guest book at www.pocatellofuneral.com

I'm so grateful for the presence that he had in our family. Emma, I'm so grateful that he ingrained in his children what it means to be loved by a good man. The boys will know how to treat a lady, and the girls will know how to choose a good husband because of the way they saw him treat you. We love and miss you dearly Rob.-The Sansom Family
