Ronald Jarman Obituary

Ronald J. Jarman 1946-2021

Ron was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania the first of three boys to Clark and Margaret Jarman. After graduating high school, he attended Lafayette College on a golf scholarship and then received a law degree from the University of Oregon. Ron fell in love with exploring the mountains and fly fishing out west. He married the love of his life, Susan B. Manly, in 1971, and they settled in Washington State and then Eastern Idaho. The majority of his legal career was spent in Pocatello, ID as a trial lawyer and one of the most successful civil rights attorneys of his generation in the Idaho bar. He retired to Sheridan, Montana in 2009. An avid sportsman, he enjoyed baseball, skiing and hunting and always wanted to enjoy his outdoor pursuits in the company of his nearest and dearest. He also loved live music, especially his beloved Grateful Dead. But his friends and family knew him first and foremost as one of the most passionate fly fishermen in the rivers around the west. Ron was a man of brilliant wit and deep humanity. He is survived by his wife, Susan of Sheridan, his son Kenny of Jackson, WY and daughter Tippi of Pocatello, ID, his brother Mike, two nephews and two nieces.
