Thomas Curro Obituary

Thomas V. Curro
June 20,1932 - November 17, 2017
Pocatello - Thomas V. Curro, age 85, passed away on November 17, 2017 in the peacefulness of his home.
Thomas is survived by his two sons, Thomas G. Curro and Timothy J. Curro; his grandson, Kestrel L. Curro; and his brothers, Frank Curro and Anthony Curro; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Thomas was a US Army veteran of the Korean War, where he wielded a bazooka, and was honorably discharged at a rank of Staff Sargent. He grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, retiring from a career as an auto worker with American Motors, later Chrysler. Upon retirement in 1989, Thomas moved to Logan, Utah, and later settled in Pocatello, Idaho, where he enjoyed the retirement life with his wife, Veneda Curro, who passed away in 2009.
Thomas was a beloved friend to so many, who knew that if the garage door was open, you would always be welcome to drop by for a cool drink, some snacks, friendly conversation, and maybe catch a Green Bay Packer or Wisconsin Badger football game on TV.
A special thank you goes out to his 'guardian angels,' Lynne & Jim Stalnaker and Diane & Gary Fulmer, the Morgan Family, and all the staff of Hospice and Home Helpers. Thomas was cremated through Colonial Funeral Home of Pocatello.

Dear Curro Family: What a sad surprise for us to return from a month in Hawaii to find that your good Dad/Grandpa had passed away. We will miss stopping in occasionally to his "community family room" in the garage and reminiscing stories of him and Vaneda. We met after our daughter, Shelly left them a note complimenting them on their yard, when she was a teenager, and they insisted on meeting her, then us. She is now a Mother of four in Georgia and we all have many fun memories of the Easter and Halloween treats they would share with our grandchildren, Tom's favorite snack mix, beautiful crocheted tablecloths from Vaneda, and stuffed bunnies that they shared with us. They were good people.
My tree is decorated right now with crocheted bulbs, made by your Mom. I see that Shelly happened to be flying home from Hawaii after being with us the day that Tom died. I'm happy that we had association with him and that he is now in the Spirit World with Vaneda. Blessings to you all, a special hug to Kestrel, who I met a couple of times when he came to visit.
