Dear Lois,
I was so sad to learn of your mother's death. She was truly a lovely lady in every way. I will always remember how welcome she made me fee when I came to your home, her smile that brought a twinkle to her eyes and her kind and sweet disposition. She was always poised and in control, patient with her children and a wonderful example of a good mother.

I know you will all miss her greatly. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this most difficult time.
Love,
Patty Gabrielsen Mickelsen

Vera touched many, many lives. I was one of many, I'm sure who will remember her always with great fondness. I was a missionary in Guatemala, whom she knew only vaguely, through my brother who cared for Paul as a nurse toward the end of his life. While she didn't know me well, I came to look forward to her weekly letters, which amounted to some of the sweetest inspiration that motivated me to always give my best throughout my mission. She would often sneak a twenty dollar bill into her letters, tucking it carefully into a copy of an inspirational piece from the Church News or Ensign. Many of these letters arrived at my door at times when I was especially in need of a spiritual or emotional boost. My prayers go out in thankfulness to her and her sweet family.

Dear Karma and Siblings,
I was so glad to see you in Sizzlers and have a chance to visit with you. I saw your mother's name in the paper's internet site. I am so glad that I was able to be a small part of her life with Rex. May these days go smoothly for all of you and may you feel the spirit as she would wish. Bless you all.
Sincerely, Mardene Smith
