Verda May Miller

1930 - 2024

Verda May Miller was born July 22, 1930 to William Andrew and Louise Ottelia Schultz Morrison. She was the 7th of 10 children. Verda grew up in the Downey area where she helped on the family's farm and had many fond memories of the dry farm. She would point out places she had farmed to her children and grandchildren while driving through the area.

On July 1 1948 she married John W. Evans. This union was blessed with 3 children, Connie, Glenna, and Michael. They would later divorce.

On October 21, 1973 Verda married Carlos LaMont (Mont) Miller. They lived in Rock Springs Wyoming and then moved to Washington. Verda and Mont later divorced and she moved back to Pocatello to be near her family.

Verda was a dedicated mother and grandmother. She left each grandchild and great grandchild feeling as if they were her favorite. She would spend summers at the pool and vacationing with her grandchildren when they were all younger, and then travelling with her sisters or son as she got older. She always made sure to find something to bring back the grandchildren to let them know she was thinking of them.

Verda passed away April 7, 2024 from natural causes. She left behind a void that can never be filled. She is survived by her daughters Connie Christensen and Glenna Wolley, her younger brother Darrell Morrison, sisters in-law June Morrison and Dwan Morrison, grand children Christopher Christensen, Troy Myler, Brooke Christensen, Marcus (Lisa) Christensen, Heather Christensen, Hilary (Shawn) Humpherys, Emily (Kyle) Spencer, and Richard (Jaki) Wolley, 15 great grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by her parents, brothers Leland, Oren, Kenneth, and Dee Morrison, sisters Betty Thompson, Fay Day, and June Yearsley, son Michael Evans, son in-law Wayne Myler, and grandson Aaron Christensen.

There will be a graveside service April 11, 2024 at 11:00 at Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Pocatello.
