Anna Virginia Morris Simmons
October 29, 1958 – March 24, 2026
Anna Virginia Morris Simmons was born on October 29, 1958, in Addison, Illinois, to Eugene Edward Morris and his wife. At the age of 14, her family made their way west to Montpelier, Idaho — a place that would shape her into the resilient, warm-hearted woman she became. She graduated high school there, laying the foundation for a life full of hard work, love, and quiet devotion to those around her.
Anna spent years building a career making biker chips, a trade she pursued with dedication until 2003. It was then that life took a beautiful turn — she met George Simmons, the man who would become her partner in every sense of the word. Together, they built a tree service business, working side by side with the kind of easy partnership that only comes from truly knowing someone. Their work was more than a livelihood; it was a shared life.
Anna's heart belonged to two places she lovingly called "Sasquatch" and "angels" — the Cascade Mountains and the Pacific Ocean. She and George made the journey to these beloved landscapes several times a year, and it was there, among towering pines and crashing waves, that some of the family's most treasured memories were made. Those who knew her best will carry those moments forever.
Anna was a woman of quiet tenderness. She would never quite admit it, but she had a soft spot for the little critters she and George cared for — her gentle nature showing itself in ways that didn't need words. A faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Anna was endowed in the Logan Utah Temple, a covenant she cherished and lived.
She is survived by:
Her beloved husband, George Simmons; her children, Wesley Olson and Amy Young; her granddaughter, Savannah Young; and her siblings, Allen, Mary, Elaine, Philip, Wayne, Helen, Darlene, Eugene Edward II, and William Daniel.
Anna leaves behind a family who loved her deeply and a community that was better for knowing her. She was steadfast, hardworking, and quietly loving — the kind of person whose presence you felt even when she wasn't in the room. May she rest in the peace she so richly deserves, reunited with all she loved.
