Agnes Teter Obituary

Agnes Moore Teter

April 28, 1925 - September 11, 2024

Boise, Idaho - Agnes Moore Teter passed away September 11, 2024, at her home at Grace Assisted Living Center. She was 99.

She was born in Montour, Idaho on April 28, 1925, to Otto and Lillie Kirchner and had one sister Evelyn.

Agnes attended school in Montour. She married James Moore on November 16, 1942. When he returned from the Army after World War II in February 1943, she moved to Boise. They lived in Boise all their married life until Jim's death in 1995. They had three sons and lost their son Kerry in 1946.

Agnes worked at JJ Newberry, Kress Store and later at Blue Cross of Idaho. She also worked at St. Lukes Hospital and St. Alphonsus. She retired from St. Alphonsus in 1995 at the age of 70.

She later met and married Ernest Teter in December 1997. They lived in Boise and later moved to Nampa.

She loved playing the organ and loved her organ teachers. She played in several churches. Community Christian Center in Garden City, Eagle Baptist, Eagle Methodist, Collister Methodist, Rodeway Chapel in Boise. Her most recent church was Anchor Baptist in Kuna. She was a devout Christian and believer in God and this showed in her love of playing sacred music. She loved music and was instrumental in helping several churches purchase organs.

She moved to Chateau De Boise after Ernest's death and moved to Grace Assisted Living after suffering a heart attack in April of 2022.

Agnes loved driving her car and drove until she suffered a heart attack. She loved going to church and shopping. When she lived in her home, she loved her dogwood trees and always had Iris's and beautiful flowers. Through the many churches she attended and workplaces, she formed bonds and friendships and family that lasted her lifetime. She felt so blessed for being a part of such incredible church communities.

Agnes enjoyed her family. She enjoyed traveling with Ernie to places she had never seen. She was happiest when she was surrounded by family at BBQ's, birthday parties and Holidays. She loved to decorate her home for all the holidays.

Agnes is survived by her sons, Art (Geri) Moore and Rendy (Susan) Moore. Seven Grandchildren, Tracy (Bruce) Robinette, Curtis Moore, Jonathan (Stacia) Munn, Carrie (Chris) Ashcraft, Rebecca (Mike) Shawver, Jennifer Moore, Amanda Moore, eleven Great Grandchildren, four Great Great grandchildren, brother-in-law Boyd Moore and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband's James Moore, Ernest Teter, sister Evelyn Nygaard, and baby son Kerry.

Services will be held September 24th at 11:00 am at Alden Waggoner Funeral Chapel, 5400 Fairview Avenue Boise, Idaho. Interment will be at Dry Creek Cemetery at 1:30 pm.

I worked with Agnes at Blue Cross of Idaho in the late 70s. She trained me and was always patient and kind. I recognized her beautiful smile in the picture.
