Andrew Myers Obituary

Andrew E Myers
March 19, 1966 - June 15, 2023
Boise, Idaho - "What if I fall, Oh my darling boy, what if you fly?!"
Andrew was born in Canoga Park, California to Bunny and Gus Myers. He was adored by them and the extended families, Myers and Morris. He was a sweet and loving boy.
In 1967, the family moved to Nampa, Idaho. In 1968, Amy, his sister was born. They later moved to Boise where Andy attended Hillcrest Elementary, North Junior High and Boise High. Andrew enrolled at University of Oregon for 2 years and then transferred to University of Arizona to finish his degree in Biology. Upon graduation, he chose to forge a new path in the study of Naturopathic Medicine at John Bastyr University in Seattle, Washington. Andrew graduated with his doctorate in 1992. He returned to Boise to share his new found knowledge with the community. He opened North End Family Practice to offer natural options for care. He was respected and loved by his patients. After years, he chose to leave his practice and embark on a career in the field of natural supplements. He carved out his own path and made a place for himself in this upcoming field. He worked for Richardson Labs, AIM and Leiner before joining Health Well Ventures and NutraGenetics. He was one of the very best product formulators in the industry, a position that took him domestically and internationally. His sister, Amy joined Andrew in his adventures in 2004 and they worked successfully together for 19 years. He published three books. Notably, he finished his career with Vitus AS located in Norway. He worked until a week before his death.
Andrew married Chanel Johnson after meeting while working at Community Home Health. In 1998 they had their first child, a son, Andrew (Drew) McGregor Myers. In 2000, a daughter, Elke Mae Myers arrived. His children were the love of his life. He was a fun loving father who spent his extra time with his children. Andrew was extremely proud of them both.
Hiking and backpacking became his favorite past time. He knew the trails and mountains of Idaho. He knew the birds, the flowers and the hot springs. He enjoyed the simple beauty of life all around him. He enjoyed watching his children grow into remarkable adults. Andrew delighted in music, art, and making others laugh.
Unfortunately, Andrew was diagnosed with Stage IV Pancreatic cancer on December 2, 2020. He took on this disease with courage and hope. He pursued and researched every avenue of care. He always had a smile on his face regardless of his condition. He had chemo for two years before it failed to control the cancerous growth in his organs. He lived without chemo for 3 months until his death. The pain never stopped him from being a good husband, father, brother and son.
Andrew met Cynthia Ellsworth at the Boise airport on January 30, 2018. There was instant and profound connection between them. Andrew and Cindy enjoyed building a future together, sharing all aspects of their life with one another, to included a professional alignment throughout. The couple split their time between their home in Boise, Idaho and in Charleston, SC. Their commitment to one another to spend their lives together "no matter what," continued even after Andrew's diagnosis, vowing to take each other by the hand and to get through it together. They were married on July 23, 2021 in Sun Valley, Idaho. Cindy stayed by his side and lovingly cared for Andrew even beyond his last breath. Cindy's sons relocated back to Boise to bring the family together in support of Andrew and Cindy. 4 of them arrived 3 months before Andrews passing. Andrew loved them dearly.
On the morning of June 15, his family and friends gathered around him to love and support him in his final journey. At his right side was his wife Cindy, her sons Heethe, Beau, Rylee, Dallas along with her mother Pam Quinney and her daughter in law Mary Emma. On his left were his children Drew and Elke Myers, his sister Amy, husband Greg, their son Ian, his dad, Gus Myers and at his feet, his mom, Bunny Williams. He had been visited by his high school friend Cameron McCord only a few days earlier. His close family friend Walter Munns was present and in service to Andrew and Cindy just weeks prior to his passing. Dear friends Steve Baggerly and Marc vanMaris, were present, in service and able to say goodbye in his final moments as well. He is survived by his Stepfather Tony Williams, Stepmother Pennie Myers, Aunts Dawn Kladerman, Jean Keltner, Mardy Jorgenson and Charlotte Lazor and cousins, Curtis Rausch, Dacher Keltner and Jared Lazor.
Andrew will always be with us, when we listen to music, go on hikes, and travel to new places. He will live on with those who love him most.

I worked with Andrew at Leiner Health Products and remember him as a kind soul who was always open and willing to share his knowledge with colleagues. I reconnected with him in 2021 during my employment at Herbalife. He represented products from Concordix that Herbalife was reviewing. I enjoyed dinner meetings, trade show meetings and telephone meetings with him most recently and was saddened to hear of his passing. I was lucky to have received a signed copy of his book, Simplifying the COVID Puzzle from him. He is truly missed.
