Betty Davis Obituary

Betty Ann Davis
1928-2017
The beautiful Betty Ann Davis passed away on March 13, 2017 at the age of 88 with her loving family by her side. Betty was born on April 21, 1928 to S. Earl and Alta Head in Ogden, Utah. Betty was the youngest of 3 children. Betty graduated in 1946 from Ogden High School. It was during her high school days that she met the love of her life, Hal K. Davis. Shortly after graduation, Hal and Betty were married on May 15, 1946. This past May, Hal and Betty celebrated 70 years of marriage!
In March of 1947, Kathy, their first child was born. Betty celebrated her birthday in 1950 with the birth of her son Gary. In September of 1950 Hal and Betty packed up their young family and moved to Boise, Idaho where they have resided ever since. In 1954, their third child, Brian was born.
In 1966 Hal and Betty founded Hal Davis Jewelers in downtown Boise. Hal and Betty worked together to grow this business into a strong fixture in the downtown community. In 2016, Hal and Betty, along with family and many friends celebrated the Jewelry Store's 50th year in business.
Betty enjoyed scrapbooking, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. Betty was an amazing pen pal and would send weekly notes to her granddaughters while they were away at college. Betty would make the best chicken noodle soup from scratch and her Thanksgiving dinner was the most delicious meal you would eat all year.
Betty is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Hal; her daughter Kathy Seim (Hollis), and her son, Brian Davis; two granddaughters Andrea Brekke (Jim), Jennifer Graves (Scott); and her great grandchildren Addison, Ryan, Owen, and Olivia.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her son Gary, her sister Margaret Butler, and brother Dewain Head.
Betty's funeral service will be held on Friday, March 17th at 1:30 p.m. in the afternoon at the LDS Church located at 3200 Cassia St., Boise. Family and friends are invited to greet the family between 12:30 p.m.-1:15 p.m. at the church prior to the services. Burial will follow the services in the Morris Hill Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Relyea Funeral Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choice.
The family would like to thank: Grace Assisted Living Staff, A Caring Hand Home Health Care, First Choice Hospice, and many close friends and family.
Betty was very witty, she had many famous "Bettyism" quotes. One of our favorites will always be, "Let us be kind to one another, let us share each other's love."
