Beverly Thometz Obituary

Beverly Thometz
September 29, 1932 - July 2, 2022
Boise, Idaho - Beverly Brennan Thometz
Beverly Thometz, 89, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Saturday, July 2, 2022.
Funeral services will be held at Our Lady of the Rosary at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 15. A Rosary will be said directly before at 9:30 a.m. Inurnment will be a private family affair.
Bev was born at St. Alphonsus Hospital on September 29,1932 to James and Mary Brennan. Bev was deeply connected to Boise. She grew up in the East End and attended St. Teresa's, Boise High and finally, Boise Junior College where she met and married Mike Thometz in 1954. Mike and Bev were lovingly married for 52 years until his death. They raised six lucky and devoted children and were active in each of their lives to the end.
The center of Bev's life was her Catholic faith. She attended Daily Mass for as long as she was able and adored Mother Mary. If you knew Bev she was probably praying for you daily. This faith and love of Jesus shined through in every conversation and encounter you had with Bev. She involved herself with any group, family or person that needed her help.
Alongside faith, Bev's life was guided by the virtue of hospitality. She extended her friendship and love to all those that were in her life - from life-long friends to neighborhood children, Bev never knew a stranger. Amongst her close friends are the YaYa's childhood friends who still have monthly lunches her exercise group, daily Mass friends, neighborhood friends, loving family friends, and many others who were lucky enough to share her life. She welcomed anyone and formed genuine relationships, sharing jokes, laughter, homemade cookies, cakes and jam along the way.
Her passion for people and life was evident in all the activities she enjoyed: gardening, cooking, canning, baking, exercising, card games with her siblings and their spouses - Jim & Jeri, Grace & Larry, talking with friends old and new, praying the Rosary and listening to the radio. Bev was a member of the Junior League, and managed the Boise Senior Center after the kids left the house. She loved to work, serve and share.
Bev is preceded in death by her husband, Mike and her son Michael.
She is survived by her children: Molly McCall, Peter, Christina (Gil) Hammond, Christopher (Barbara), Timothy (Susan), daughter in-law Becky; grandchildren: Eva, Lucy, Alec, Tristan, Olivia, Hank, Ruby, Elizabeth and Nicholas; and great grandchildren: Felix and Matilda.
Memorials may be made to Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church or St. Mary's Catholic Church.

I loved seeing Aunt Bev at Costco, we could catch up, she always had a funny bone, always had a good chuckle! Remember always hanging out with my cousins, mom and Aunt Bev had preschool at your house, we read books and did the hokey poke dance, so fun

I´m so sorry for your loss. I have many great memories of all of you and your parents when we lived on Harrison and attended St Mary´s. My mom would catch me up on the family after they had run into each other.
Praying for you all.
