October 15, 1971 - May 14, 2025
Boise, Idaho - Brett past away on May 14, 2025 at the age of 53 after a 3 year battle with emphysema and COPD, a result of his lifelong smoking habit. He is survived by his parents Evelyn and Jerry, 2 siblings Shannon and Aaron, 4 children twins Valerie and Matthew Merritt, Sidney Archer and Ryan Sundgaard. Brett had 7 grandchildren. Brett was a talented drummer playing many gigs in Idaho and Minnesota where he lived for over 20 years. Later in life he received an Associates Degree in Aircraft Mechanics in Duluth MN and had a short career before returning to Boise in 2017. He worked with life challenged adults transitioning to independence for a few years before becoming disabled with his terminal illness. Brett will be missed.
