Christine Wickmark Obituary

Christine Ann Wickmark

May 1, 1958 - June 14, 2025

Mountain Home, Idaho - Christine (Chris) Ann Wickmark, an Air Force veteran and resident of Mountain Home, Idaho, passed away on June 14th, 2025, following a courageous 12-year battle with ALS. Chris was born May 1st, 1958, in St Petersburg, Florida, to William (Mack) and Priscilla Shelby. Following graduation from Lindhurst High School, Chris served 8 years in the United States Air Force (19781986), initially as a transportation specialist and later as a military training instructor (drill sergeant). She was immensely proud of her service to this great nation and especially so of her service in training new United States Air Force recruits in basic training. Following her military service, she began a 20-year career in jewelry sales, which was a perfect fit for her outgoing, charismatic, and friendly personality. There's a better than fair chance she helped you, Dear Reader, or one of your friends, select the wedding ring on your finger. In her free time, she was busy working on the family pig farm, jamming out to her favorite disco hits, Disco Inferno by the Trammps being her absolute favorite. She was lovingly known as the Idaho Disco Queen. She would often credit her never-ending resilience to the power of dance and music. Her infectious smile and laugh made her the life of every party. At any event, you could find her surrounded by newfound friends, dancing her heart out. She lived a life larger than the years she was given and left a mark on so many lives. She was the best mom and grandma to her children and grandchildren, passing on her love and passion for life and leaving behind unforgettable lessons of courage, generosity, resilience, and unwavering determination. Chris is preceded in death by her parents, Mack and Priscilla Shelby. She is survived by her husband of nearly 40 years, David Wickmark; daughters, Shelby Massey (Dustin) and Davianna Pachner (Blake); brother, Phillip Shelby (Tammy); granddaughters, Makinze and Katelynn Massey; and a grandson on the way, Baby Pachner. Please join us for her grave side Military Honors on July 10, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery, located at 10100 N Horseshoe Bend Rd, Boise, ID 83714. There will be a Celebration of Life to follow at Beside Bardenay, located at 610 W Grove St, Boise, ID 83702. Chris was a force of nature, a grand example of the necessity to honor personhood and to allow for self-determination to never end. I will always remember her independently turning on disco music through her Tobi eyes every morning. She was always determined to not just have a good day but a day that celebrates. I will always remember your family for your endless support of following her wishes above all else. I would not miss an opportunity to celebrate Chris and all of you who loved her. See you on the 10th. xoxo

Chris was a blessing to know.
She always had a smile and kind words to share.
One in a million, a true friend that will be missed.
