Chris my brother. I cant believe that you are gone. Know this though, you will never be forgotten. When we were in Las Vegas you helped me through one of the worst times of my life. You were there to pick me up no matter what. We were both going through hard times and to call you friend just isnt enough.I remember playing Texas hold'em into the late hours of the night on the computer and drinkin coronas in our backyards. I still can see Jadyn and Megan playing in the backyard. I am truly sorry that we were never able to go to a Fresno State vs. Boise State football game like we planed to do after you moved. Friends come and go but true pals are forever and I am proud to call you pal. To Chris's family, I am truly sorry for your loss. To Chris's daughters, I just just don't have the words to say to try to make this better. You dad was a good dad and just never forget that. Keep him in your heart forever and know he will always be with you. Chris, my brother, my pal, I will truly miss you. Thank you for all the good memories and everything that you did for me. Rest in peace.

Christopher!!!
I was very saddened to hear the news of your passing. Life is too short, and certainly unexpected tragedies like your death remind us all of the friends that come into our lives and although; we had not physically "hung out" over the last decade, I will never forget the memories, laughs, tears, football games, girlfriends, boyfriends... Sitting at your house in Hailey trying to find the "party"... We had some great times and I will always remember becoming good friends with you and having great talks with you. Your daughters will always have you as their hero. Your medals and achievements speak to your character, kindness and strength. R.I.P old friend...

Chris, you helped make my time at the MPS on Mountain Home AFB fun and I used to marvel at your ability to keep your cool regardless of what mess popped up at work. So many times I'd be lost or ready to blow my top and you'd take the issue and in your cool, patient manner, fix the problem, reminding me it was no big deal. You were the epitome of an Air Force NCO, someone I looked up to and I know you continued to positively impact the Airmen around you. Trustworthy, always supportive and a father who openly adored his girls...the United States Air Force and all who knew you have lost an extraordinary man. I pray your family & the 366 Fighter Wing find peace in memories of your smile & the knowledge that you are waiting on the other side. Dear Lord, please bring comfort to those special to Chris and keep them close in this difficult time.

Thank you for your service, TSgt Carrier.

The Final Salute

“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.

This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to TSG Christopher Dwayne Carrier our “Brother-in-Arms”. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Chris. And to Chris it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the devoted and selfless service he rendered to his country during Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom while serving first in the U.S. Marine Corps and then in the U.S. Air Force. Chris, you served with honor and distinction; we bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at Ease. Rest in Peace.

On behalf of the 1,261 military veteran Legionnaires of Lowe-McFarlane Post 14 of the American Legion and the 233 veterans of VFW Post 2238 in Shreveport, Louisiana, we extend our sympathies and our condolences to Chris' family and loved ones.

Chris it's been so long since we've been face to face. And now it will be longer than I ever imagined. I remember our first real talk outside the temporary schoolroom trailers in 6th grade, back when the new wing at Hemingway was under construction. You were the new kid, having one of those new kid days, and we talked it out. The moment came and went but the impression you made on me never faded. We had some good years together, brother. You were kind, funny and unbreakable. Always were, always will be. This world will miss your light.

Chris, you have become an amazing friend and big brother to me. Leanna, Bryson and Aliyah have looked up to you from day one. When Bryson lost his dad last year you stepped up to teach him how to be a man. After I broke my foot and had surgery in December, you stopped by on your way home from work almost everyday to make sure the kids and I were good. For that I love you, the kids love you and we will never forget everything you did for us.
I miss you so much already Bro, so much
Love you!

Words can't explain how sad I am that you are gone. You were a great friend and an amazing father. I will always cherish all the time we spent together. I was thinking about the time you caught my mom's tent on fire when we went to Warm Lake. That night was hilarious. Karaoke to Garth Brooks, mingling with the locals, and quite the bar tab. I have so many amazing memories of us. I will never forget those times we shared. You were always there for me and I thank you for your honesty, loyalty, and love. I will never forget you bro. I love you and miss you so much. Until we meet again. R.I.P. my friend.
