Coltin Jones Obituary

Coltin Knut Jones
July 27, 2009 - June 7, 2023
McCall, Idaho - We lost a cowboy on June 7, 2023. Coltin had spent an amazing day with his grandmother when a tree fell on their car during a storm near mile marker 77 on Highway 55. Coltin was finishing up his eighth grade year at Payette Lakes Middle School in McCall, Idaho. Coltin was a bull rider for McCall-Donnelly Jr High School Rodeo. He had wanted to be a cowboy ever since he was very young and was the embodiment of what it meant to be a cowboy. You could find Coltin helping with a smile and wanted to jump in wherever needed, just so he could be doing something and learning. He had a heart of gold, loved his family, friends and animals. When he wasn't bull riding, his time was spent tinkering on his dirt bike, cooking, sewing, riding horses with his mom and sister, making, collecting and sharpening knives, fishing, camping, and loved being outdoors. He is survived by his mother Alex MacGregor, his father and step-mother, Steven and Kristy Jones, his sister, Cassidy Jones, his brothers Garrett and Cyrus and Grandparents Marsha and Joe Gallagher, Ardys and John Jones, and David and June MacGregor and multiple aunts, uncles and cousins. He is met in Heaven by his uncle, Collin MacGregor, his great grandmother, Borgny Malde and his other great- grandparents.

Coltin Knut Jones loved his life out loud. He always had something fun and interesting planned and he loved to be thinking of things to build. His tastes were eclectic and we´ll thought out. He loved to come over and play poker and chess and was surprisingly conservative with his monetary bets. Coltin loved "his people" whether be it family or friends he was very loyal. Coltins favorite place to be was fishing with his cousin or rodeoing with his rodeo family. Coltin had an annate sense of fairness that he stuck to pretty consistently. He was fun to be around he was fun to talk to and he had an impish sense of humor. I know Colti is in Heaven watching all of us daily. His family and friends miss antics and his laugh that was funnier than what we were all laughing at!! I could write about him all day long for the rest of my life and that still wouldn´t be enough. I just thank God that he was given to us because he made life here on earth so much better

Coltin was always a funny guy. Coltin was always very kind, smart, funny, nice, crazy. He was a little mean to me but once he got to know me he and me became good friends ! He loved playing pranks on people! He was a great person to hang with. When he came back to school after a radio show he showed his belt that he won to me and other friends.!! But I for everyone when we all get back to school we will be sad he is not with us but I know it´s going to be different in high school with out him but we will slowly move on and we will know that he is with us!
