Daisy Irene (Skelton) Canfield
Daisy Irene (Skelton) Canfield, 86, died June 13, 2017 in Boise, Idaho. There will be a viewing today, Sunday June 18, from 3-5 at Alden-Waggoner. Services will be held Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at 10am at Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel. Graveside services to follow at Morris Hill Cemetery. There will be a reception following.
Irene was born in Illinois to Arvetta McCuan and Hugh Skelton. Irene attended school in Vienna, Illinois. She moved to Idaho to be near her grandparents when she was out of school at 16. She married the love of her life, Bob Canfield when she was 17 years old. They were married July 16, 1948. They moved from Boise to Meridian in 1969 where they resided until 1989 when they moved to Garden Valley, ID. They lived in Garden Valley until 2006 when they moved with their daughter to Boise and then on to Kuna.
Irene was an excellent homemaker. She canned vegetables and fruit. She made jams and jellies. She sewed for her family and herself. She worked part time at the Vista Beverage. She was an active member of the Ten Mile Community Church bible study. She enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, and snowmobiling. In Garden Valley, they transitioned from hunting to watching the deer and birds in their yard. She was a good mother, but she found her niche when she became a grandma. She set a good example as a mother, grandma, and great-grandma.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert Canfield, her brother James Skelton and his wife Chris. She is survived by her sister Norma Lane (Robert), Dennis Skelton, her children Dale Canfield (Jean), Vicki Johnston (Brett), grandchildren Christopher Canfield (Chrissy), Janet Garman (Michael), Joshua Johnston and great grandchildren, Robert, Daniel, Briahannah, Katelyn, Evelyn, Zoe and Andrew.
