Dale Andrew Rutter was born September 30, 1935 in Placer County, California to Ralph J. Rutter and Doris G. Dowhower Rutter Blake. He and his older sister spent their years growing up in Weimar, California and San Jose, California where he graduated in 1953 from San Jose Technical High School. He then served four years in the Pacific as a Ship's Electrician in the U.S. Navy. After leaving the Navy, he continued working as an electrician for the rest of his life. On June 12, 1960 he married Marlene Deloy Wemmer Wallace and lived for most of the next twenty years in San Jose, California. They had three children, Blake A. Rutter, Brian J. Rutter and Tammy R. Rutter Ellis. They divorced in 1983. His time in the outdoors of Placer County were his fondest memories. In 1994, Dale moved to Boise, Idaho to work on the expansion of Micron Technology Inc. While there, he met and married Marlene Diane Thiel on June 7, 1997. They spent the next 20 years together in Meridian and Boise, Idaho and enjoyed many winters with their great friends at ViewPoint RV & Golf Resort in Mesa, Arizona. Dale enjoyed golfing, fishing, with his son-in-laws, woodworking and maintaining his beautifully landscaped yard. His wife, Marlene, and his Boise family were with him when he peacefully passed away on March 4, 2017 from complications associated with cancer. He is preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Frank and Ollie Bryant, his parents, his sister Doris Darlene Rutter and his first wife. He is survived by his wife Marlene, his three children, three step-daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren. We are grateful for the warmth, safety and great work of the care-givers with Touchmark at Meadow Lake Village and Encompass Hospice.
