Dan was a friend of my daughter's while they were at Barlow. When she found out he was coming to Boise State, she contacted me and said we got a tremendous football player, but an even better person. Dan played one of his more flashy games against Nevada on The Blue when he scored 3 TDs and he was splashed on the front page of the Idaho Statesman's sports section. I took the paper to the locker room and waited outside the door for Dan to come out. I asked him to sign the large picture for my daughter. He was so gracious and kind. I sent the photo to my daughter and she was thrilled. That was Dan Paul. He was the nicest person off the field, but in my opinion, the toughest player on it. His play opened up the running lanes for future NFL RB Doug Martin. Dan did the dirty work. He didn't get the glory very often, but he made those Bronco Teams go because of his unselfish play and his will to be the best. I am so sorry for the Paul Family, especially Kati and little Davie. God Bless
