David William Fritschle
1940 - 2015
David William Fritschle, 74, of Donnelly, passed away Thursday, February 12, 2015. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, February 28th, at 2 p.m. at the Donnelly Bible Church in Donnelly, Idaho.
David was born to Purl & DeVota Fritschle in Meadows, Idaho, on July 24, 1940. He married Kathy Oatney on December 13, 1969.
David drove truck most of his life. He worked for J.I Morgan, Chandler Supply, Ikola Logging, and Brown Brothers Construction. He eventually purchased his own truck and trailer running interstate mainly in the northwestern states.
David & Kathy owned and operated the Long Valley Motel for 30+ years, Dave & Kathy's Place for 15 years and K & D Transport for 18 years.
David was a founding father and first president of the Donnelly Rural Fire Protection Association. He was chairman of the Valley County Waterways Commission for 12 years, seeing to the building of several boat ramps and placement of many docks on Cascade Lake. He also wrote the grants for the four Sheriff boats that patrol Cascade, McCall, and Warm Lake. He was active in starting the Donnelly Merchants Association (now the Donnelly Chamber of Commerce) and participated in all its activities. David also served on the board of the Long Valley Preservation Society and volunteered on many of its projects. He was currently president of the high Country Cruisers Car Club.
David leaves behind his wife, Kathy; children, Cheryl (Tom), Susie (James), David William Jr; grandchildren, Christopher (Ashley), Brittany (Alex), Megan, Jenna; great-grandchildren, Maddie and Callie.
