Dorothy Davis Obituary

Dorothy Yvonne Lefebvre Davis was born July 24, 1930, in Portland Ore. and died on April 25, 2006 in Tucson, Ariz. Mrs. Davis grew up in Lake Oswego, Ore., graduated from Lincoln High School in Portland and attended the University of Oregon where she was affiliated with Delta Gamma Sorority and Kwama Honorary Society. After college she was employed as a stewardess and Supervisor of Stewardess Service with United Airlines from 1952- 1957. During her airline career she was a member of Airline Stewards and Stewardesses Assn., serving as local chairman in Los Angeles and as a member of the National Mediation Board. In later years she was employed as an administrative and executive secretary for Timber Structures, Inc. and Safeway Stores, Inc. in Portland. After moving to Boise, Idaho in 1974, she was a member of the Boise Symphony Guild, a docent at the World Center for Birds of Prey, and a member of the Women's Auxiliaries at St. Alphonsus and St. Luke's Hospital in Boise. Mrs. Davis is survived by her husband, Dean H. Davis, of Tucson, daughter Jamie (Tom) Presgrove of Eaton, Colo., son Randall (Karen Blakely) Block of Waterford, Conn., grandsons Jeremy L. Peck of Eaton, Colo. and Austin J. Block of Waterford, Conn., stepdaughter Susan Block of Washington, D.C., niece Lisa Sandberg of Kentfield, Calif., nephew Robert Block of Greenbrae, Calif. and numerous cousins. Mrs. Davis was the daughter of Ruth Rauch Lefebvre, an attorney and court reporter practicing in Oregon City, Ore. and Leon N. Lefebvre of Portland, both deceased. At the request of the deceased there will be no services. Private interment in Salem, Ore. Remembrances may be made to favorite charities.
