Dylan Schmitt Obituary

Dylan Werner Schmitt 1980 - 2011 On May 31, 1980, Werner and Melanie Schmitt welcomed a beautiful baby boy, Dylan Werner Schmitt, into this world, in Rexburg, Idaho. For the next 31 years Dylan would touch many lives. Dylan passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2011, at St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, Idaho. As a young boy, Dylan fell in love with the lifestyle and serenity of the family farm in Monteview. This is where he learned many lessons in his life. He especially loved spending time at Birch Creek. We will treasure the many memories of campouts, fishing, motorcycle riding and especially snowmobiling together. The Lemhi Range's sunsets brought solitude and peacefulness to Dylan. Family meant so much to him. He adored his family and friends and helped so many of us. Losing his unconditional love and caring heart will be dearly missed by all who have known him. Dylan is survived by his daughter Deija Ann, fiancé, Molly Schmidt, and her children, Maiya and Justus, father, Werner Schmitt, mother, Melanie Schmitt, siblings, Jessie(Eric) Schmitt-Blake, Jamie Schmitt, Chance Park, Shawn, Michael, and Alicia Schmitt, Jake, Joanna, and Emily Xavier, Niece, Jazman Lopez, Grandmothers, Marolyn McCormick and Sheila McCormick. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Clyde McCormick, Sylvester and Irene Schmitt, and an uncle, Alex Humphries. Family members would like to personally thank the many friends for your kind words and kind deeds during this difficult time. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 2, 2011, at Calvary Chapel Church, 4250 South 25th East, Idaho Falls, with Pastor Brown officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the services at the church. Family and friends will meet at the West Jefferson Cemetery in Mud Lake immediately following the services, with a luncheon following at the West Jefferson Senior Citizen Center. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Dylan Schmitt Memorial Fund through any Wells Fargo Bank, for funeral expenses and a headstone. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.woodfuneralhome.com.

Hey buddy it’s been a while huh? Over 12 years now and hearing your name still hits so hard man. I’m almost 17 now and i would say i’m doing pretty well for myself, but i’ll always still have an empty hole in my heart for you. Your love and willingness to not just be a stepfather to me and Maiya, but to be the father that stepped up. I still pray everyday that you’re looking down on me. Are you? I still pray that when my day comes I’ll be able to see you. Will I? I still pray that you’re doing what you can to make everyday better for me. And to that, there’s no doubt in my mind that you are. I miss you man. I pray to the Lord that your soul is just as whole and pure as it was when you were here. I Love you big man. See you later. ❤

Your daughter is having triplets!!! It´s crazy to think you´d be a grandpa. Give dad a hug for me and keep watching us out for us, especially mom. Love you Brother...Jessie...

It is hard to see such an extraordinary person leave so adbruptly. I have fun memories of our time in Jr High together. You were an inspiration to many, even if some of us didn't realize it.
My most favorite memory of you is when you were in the 9th grade and had your tonsils taken out... I brought you fruit, whipped cream, & three days worth of school work! After that is sealed our small friendship. I still have your notes from passing in the hall ways. They hold more meaning than I will ever be able to express.
Thank you for sharing moments of your life with me, you will be greatly missed.

If I were given all day, I still couldnt find the words to express how much I miss you or how much our friendship meant to me. I didnt believe Miller when he first told me about your passing. As soon as I got off the phone with him, I called you hoping he had the wrong Sporty. I still cant believe it. You were one of the strongest, realest, and good hearted people I have ever known and I know you would be there to help me through the things I am facing now, which makes me wisj I was there for you more often. The day after I gave you a copy of my FIRST C.D, you called and asked me when was I going to put YOUR name in a song. The answer is, as soon as I get in the studio. Thank you homie. For all the loyalty, honesty, back up, and boxing lessons that I will pass on to my child that my girlfriend is pregnant with. THank you and I will always have love and respect for you.

Not a day goes by I dont think about you my friend. It saddens me to know your gone, even though its been years since weve seen or talked to eachother. I have so many memories that I will forever cherish.
You made my junior high years the best. You were my first crush my first love. I remember we use to be on the phone for hours talkin about whatever and when you would call and my line would be busy you would do an emergency breakthrough everytime...haha...oh how that pissed everyone off. You called my house once and without sayin anything started singing with Boys 2 Men in the back ground, you might not have had the best voice but to me it was beautiful. We had good times with great friends huh then we all grew up. No matter how many years has gone by you were and will always be considered a good friend and close to my heart. I wish I got the chance to know you as a man. We hear what a great man youve become you made a lot of people proud and you have come so far was engaged and livin life happy. I pray God brings your family and wife peace and comfort. I know you are lookin down on them. You will forever be missed and forever in my heart I will always love you my friend until we meet again....

i remember the first time we met, the family came up from california for thanksgiving. i hated the idea we would move to idaho a year later. you were the last sibling to meet, and meeting you made the idea of leaving my home state a lot more comforting. you were so cute & funny. back then jake and i didn't really get along & i looked forward to having a cool big brother, you. i remember the family driving out to cousin daryl's farm in pingree, playing some word game to pass the time. you said something about my mom & the entire car busted out laughing. you always made us all laugh so much. i can remember how you drove me crazy! and it made my mom laugh so much. always teasing me or taking my pillows. boxing in the backyard, well, you beating me down. watching the doors movie everyday. talking my mom into giving us money for football games when we really weren't going to no football game! i could never pinch a penny out of her, but you, you had the magic touch. camping at birch creek, going up to the ghost towns or you working on improving your cursive. you started off with horrible writing, but i will give it to you, you turned out writing & drawing almost as good as me ;) the dallas cowboys.. #21 & #22. i will never forget november 22nd. i remember the last time i saw you, i wish i would have really looked at you when we said good bye before jake & i left for work. i can't stop thinking about that day. i know you had your ups & downs. i know i was always jealous of you for making the parents so proud even when you were making mischief. but i was really proud of you. i will always be so proud of you. i love you & we all do, we all miss you more & more everyday. you will always be alive with the memories, and talking about you makes the days a little easier to handle. revved up the chevy for you! i really gave it gas too. you should have seen pa's face. i'm sure you saw it. he said the chevy was for you, and for you, we will keep the chevy revved.. thanks for all the good times, til the next time we see eachother again, expect a big 'ol bear hug!

Dear Family and Friends of Dylan, I offer my deepest sympathies and love to you all over the loss of Dylan. I admire him as he was quick to become my friend and open up to a total stranger the first time I met him. He had hopes and aspirations about his future concerning family and I really like that from a person. Dylan made everyday I saw him at least cheerful, especially with his habitual greeting, " Hey, Mc Lovin "! I still am deeply saddened with his loss. I wish you all to take a part of Dylan and hold him close to your hearts for the rest of your days because what little I knew of him and the short time I was able to know him, I will never forget Dylan, as he would never forget any one of the people he knew and loved. Bless you all, as I pray for you all, and Dylan.

My Love, my heart and soul went with you when you left since you know you took them a long time ago. I don't know how to get by without you. The feel of your hand on my face, our late night talks, you pulling me into "my spot" when i'd crawl into bed, your smell, the sound of your laugh, making love to you, watching you play with the kids..........i don't know what i have to say to bring you back. Please tell me and i'll say it. i'd give anything to have you back. you made me so proud everyday in everything you did and days are empty without you. I'll see you soon baby, and you know I'll always and forever be your lady.
