Edward Lonsdale Obituary
March 30, 2025
Boise, Idaho - Edward Anderson Lonsdale passed away March 30, 2025, at the age of 78.
Ed was born in Iowa City, Iowa, and raised in Laramie, Wyoming. He was a graduate of the University of Wyoming and Boise State University in physics and education. Ed and his wife Judy were married in 1983 in Placerville, Idaho and they spent much of their married life in Boise, Idaho. Ed loved traveling, singing, solving construction problems, and spending time with his family. With his warm smile and love of wordplay, Ed brought joy and laughter with him wherever he went.
Ed is lovingly remembered and missed by his wife, children, granddaughter, great-nieces and -nephews, sister, and many other family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his name to All Saints Episcopal Church in Boise, Idaho, or Paradise Point Episcopal Church Camp in McCall, Idaho.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 5, at All Saints Episcopal Church in Boise, Idaho.

I just learned about Ed's passing and am saddened. He and I worked together at Boise State in the Physics department for many years. He always had a smile on his face, a bounce in his step, and a funny thing to say. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Ed's modesty is on display again. I knew him and his family through All Saints, and he was a pillar who dedicated all of his many talents to whatever needed to be done, in the process making it fun for those involved. Rest well, good servant and friend.
