I am deeply sorry for your loss of a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and, I am sure, friend to so many. I am Bob's sister from the Detroit area and wondered for years after we were separated how he was and how his life was progressing. I got the answers to these questions 35 years after our separation when we were re-united due to Bob and Deb's efforts and searches. I am so thankful that Bob became a part of your family and that he was raised to be the loving, kind and generous man that he is today. I am so proud of my brother and so sorry that he has lost the mother that loved and raised him. God Bless Elayne and may her family find comfort in their beautiful memories of life with her.

Mom , I miss you so much already. I truelly believe in my heart you are in a far more wonderful place now. My tears are only for me. My heart smiles for you. You gave me tools in life that I continue to use.. You taught me to question all things around me, and to learn the hows and whys.. to this day I still love to learn. Thank you..
You gave me a home , when there was no other for me as a baby. Not even knowing if I was going to be a boy or girl.. It takes a special heart to be willing to do that. . and many foster children .If the 3 Berry children read this, please know that many tears were shed after you were sent back home. They truelly wanted you to always be a part of our home. .. ..
You also touched the lives of a few special young men when you worked for the job corp. bringing them to our home for a weekend to enjoy a delicious home cooked meal.. You were a wonderful cook.. In the last many years we ended up with another sister, of the fury variety tho. You loved Persia so very much. I recall writing you a letter saying that Persia had called me and was complaining you would not let her go out and wander the streets and hang out with her friends. . and that she was having to sneek to use the phone to call.. You laughed for so long abut that. and took the letter to all of your friends. You encouraged me so many times to write a book on my own life and to write one for kids as well.. I will do it .. And it will be for you .. It is sad that the other grandkids will miss growing up hearing about the trick pony, or the pigs going after the bottles.. Or Trixie riding the bike with you..And I will always remember the night the train flew.. I will do my best to retell these stories to the younger ones. But it wont be the same as when you did. Until I see you again ... I love you mom.. Kandie
