Everett LeRoy Doty, 87, of Boise, died Sunday, December 31, 2017, in a Boise hospital. Everett was born August 6, 1930 in Parma, Idaho, the son of Claude and Goldie Young Doty.
After graduating from high school Everett entered college at the College of Idaho. In the middle of his schooling he joined the United States Air Force. While in the Air Force he worked as an Aeronautical Engineer. Following his honorable discharge in 1953 he returned to the College of Idaho, graduating in 1955.
On July 23, 1954 Everett married Norma J. Smith in Caldwell.
Everett worked for Albertsons Incorporated from 1955 until 1967. Following his twelve years there he worked for J.A. Albertson Enterprises as President and CEO until 1997 at which time he retired. He continued to serve on the J. A. and Kathryn Albertson Foundation Board of Directors until 2002.
Everett was an avid water skier, boater and golfer. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and his time in Cascade at the cabin that he and his father built in 1959 where he and his family spent many enjoyable summers.
He is survived by his wife, Norma, Boise; three daughters, Lisa and her husband, John McGraw, Star, Rita Doty, Boise, and Dana and her husband, Alex Martindale, Star; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Maxine Taylor, Hood River, OR and Jean and her husband, Jim McClelland, Boise.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, Steven LeRoy Doty.
A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Cloverdale Cemetery. Services are under the direction of the Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel.
