Gabriel Voigt Obituary

Gabriel Lee Voigt, 33, of Meridian, passed away Sept. 6, 2006. He was in a motorcycle accident that took his life. A memorial service to celebrate Gabes life will be held 5:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 9, 2006 at Cloverdale Funeral Home in Boise. Gabriel was born Aug. 4, 1973 in Blackfoot, Idaho. He went to school in Fairfield, Calif. where he graduated from Fairfield High School. Gabe was a talented artist and loved to draw. He enjoyed watching and participating in sports and was always excited to go fishing. Gabriel was employed by Hamilton Builders. His boss Russ said he was the hardest working employee and could take on any task. Gabe was always willing to go the extra mile regardless of the challenge and for that reason he had recently been promoted. His talents in construction were many, but he especially enjoyed working with heavy equipment and he was very talented working with concrete. Gabe is survived by his baby girl Brooklynn of Meridian, his mother and stepfather; Karen and Birney Plecker of Fairfield, Calif., his father and stepmom; Gary and Lisa Voigt of Idaho Falls, a grandmother, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many good friends. Gabe was such a fun loving kid at heart and was loved by many. We love you and miss you Gabe. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Idaho Youth Ranch. Services are under the direction of Cloverdale Funeral Home.

Here we are again.. 12 years we've been without you... 12 years your little girl has been keeping us on our toes and blessing our lives.. She still has her goals and has added a few. She LOVES her horses, dogs, cats, bunny! I know I rely on you and God to watch over her on a daily basis, as she has no fear when it comes to playing, training her horses, barrel racing!!!! She is an adventurous soul who challenges herself ( and us) daily!
Your Dad will always struggle not having you here.. we all do.. He has his good and bad days trying to get through the pain... I honestly believe you are up there keeping track of us.. I know I look to you for guidance raising your little girl!!! Some days I feel like we've got it down.. and others I'm totally at a loss.. LOL. Please keep getting us through!!! I know your a Dad would have been proud of The Dad you would have been ..
you're Always in our hearts Gabe!!!

Here I am again, a day late...(In writing)..not in thinking about you...there is never a day goes by that we don't think of you, Each of us in our different ways. I feel you watching over your little girl daily..and I look to you for reassurance that we're raising her right. We just came back from the cabin...it always makes me remember when you would come home and be "sick" so I would make you hot totties. LOL.. I can't believe its been 9 years.. sometimes it seems like yesterday..other days it seems like you've been gone forever. I know you know what a special little girl Brooklynn is..she is getting so big and so grown-up. She reminds me daily how tall she is...and also asks if she'll be taller than me..I think that's a secret goal for her...She still wants to be a vet when she grows up..and takes pride in figuring out if one of our many animals is ever hurting and how to take care of it. Gary takes her fishing frequently and she proudly says when asked how many fish she caught...at least 5000. She loves her time with your Dad...they have such a special bond :O) Brooklynn and I talked about Guardian Angels last night.. I know you are hers...Keep shining your light Gabe...Make sure your Gramma Mia keeps singing her special songs..and tell my Mom to keep us under her wing as well! We love and miss you... more than you know! <3

I dated Gabe many years ago and Gabe was good friends with my brother David. Lastnight I had a dream Gabe was smiling at me and I woke up thinking I wonder what Gabe is up to so I looked him up and to my sadness I found this article. I had no idea Gabe had died and I feel such sadness. I knew Gabe in 1990 and I just adored him. He was fun, handsome and kind. I'm sorry, so sorry for his daughter and all who loved him. My deepest sympathy

Dear Dear Gabe...As always I am behind...I meant to post days ago of course. Every day that goes by, every week, every year...we miss you... Time does help..but when we stop and think a little too much...well your absense really hits home. Brooklynn is of course wondering more and more about her Dad.. She is so well adjusted, yet, I know she yearns to know you.. She adores Your Dad...so that helps to keep her close to you as well. ;O) I know you can feel the love we all share. She is one of a kind thats for sure. Always keeping us on our toes, she doesn't miss a thing. She restarted her swimming lessons and is doing great..that is her other favorite thing do. She did great showing her horse at the Fair this year...She has so much fun on that ole boy.. Your dad is busy as always....but I can always tell when you are on his mind.. He struggles, buts keeps a tough facade. Keep shining the light of love on your little girl Gabe...and please let your Gramma Mia sing you a song. With much love... Your Dad, Lisa and your sweet little girl!!!

Happy Birthday Dad!!!

Here we are again...Happy Birthday (a day late)Sorry. Brooklynn is truly an incredible little girl. Yesterday your Dad told her that today is a special day. He told her it was her Dads birthday. She said Happy Birthday to you. Today she told me that yesterday was your Birthday.. I said ..yes, thats right and Your Dad loves you very very much. You were the most important thing in the world to him ever. She said "really"? Of course you are. She said sometimes she looks up at the sky and says "I love you Dad" Brought tears to my eyes. I told her when she feels a warm feeling like she is being hugged and no one is there hugging her..that it is you. She said. I feel that right now..with great exitement. She is a bright, caring young lady. She definitley is teaching us more than we are teaching her. :O) She is still the girly girl princess girl..and still the girl who LOVES to play in the mud and dirt, climb trees and hay stacks. She loves her animals and loves riding her horse...her horse however, is not fast enough for her anymore..she loves showing her at horse shows tho and wants to barrel race more. We all love and miss you to the moon.. Your Dad struggles, but continues to be strong for Brooklynn... Happy Birthday Gabe..

I hadn't seen you since I moved from Boise, but I thought of you often. I still think of you.

I hope you are in a happier place. We spent a lot of time together. You were incredibly smart and talented. I wish you were still around. You had the ability to make this world a better place.

Rest in Peace, my friend.

Dear Gabe,
I just learned of your passing today and I am heartbroken. I have wondered many times how your life was going, but I didn't expect this news. I don't know if you would even remember me-I was a friend of your Dad's. You were only about 11 or 12 years old the last time I saw you. You were always smiling and you loved pizza, icecream and fishing with your Dad! You made a little friendship bracelet for me in 1986 that I still have in my keepsake box. I am so sorry that you were taken from us at such a young age, but I know you will be watching over your daughter and taking her fishing. You will always be in our hearts and your memory will live on in Brooklyn. My deepest sympathies to your family.
