Gregory Goodson

Gregory Paul (G.P.) Goodson 1952-2012 Raised in Boise, Idaho, Gregory received his education at St. Joseph's Grade School, Bishop Kelly High School and the University of Idaho, "GO VANDALS." Gregory joined the Idaho Air National Guard and made it his career. He held various jobs and dealt with many fine people while in the Air Guard. His last Tour of Duty was Vehicle Maintenance and Operations Superintendent. He always bragged on his crew, they were top notch characters. He retired on December 31, 2002 with the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. Gregory always said that he never had a bad day at the Guards. Gregory had the privilege of having two "true" loves in his life, Darla L. Nordstrom, his wife and Patricia M. Halliday, mother of his children. These wonderful people prolonged his life and saved him numerous times. Love, Love, Love Ya - Nordy and Bubs. Gregory is survived by his children, Annie (Rick) Howland, Phil (Jill) Goodson and Janie Goodson, his grandchildren, Drew and Robert Howland and Lola and Henry Goodson, his step daughters, Nichole (Paul) Santarone and Danielle (Joel) Clark, his brother Rick (Jackie) Goodson and numerous nephews and nieces and their families. Gregory was preceded in death by his mother, Alice (Echevarria) Goodson, his Aunt and Uncle, Lola and Tony Uranga and his father, Fred Goodson. Life is good, enjoy it. Drew is Gregory's 10 year old grandson who is recovering from a jaw tumor. The family would like to expressly thank the doctors, and medical staff at the VA Hospital and Community Living Center for the excellent care and support they provided Gregory. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 23 at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery with a gathering at the Basque Center to follow.
