Jerry M. Baker

Jerry M. Baker 1942-2009 Jerry M. Baker, 67, of Meridian, went to be with our Father on Friday, Oct. 9, 2009 at a Boise hospital after a nine year battle with cancer. Thank you for being my very best friend, my comfort and my rock through our life together, I will carry that with me all the rest of my life. Jerry was born in Boise, Idaho on March 28, 1942 where he spent most of his growing up years until he joined the U.S. Navy in 1959. After his four years in the service he settled in the Bay area of California where he worked for 33 years in the dairy industry as a delivery driver and later as a tanker driver, picking up milk from the ranches. He retired in 1996 and moved with his family to Redding, Calif. to a small acreage where he raised a few feeder calves, chickens and a garden, to keep him out of trouble. After his kids were grown he moved to Meridian with his wife in 2002. He was preceded in death by his dad, Merle Baker. He is survived by his mother, Millie Millard; his wife of 24 years, Melanie Baker; his children, Brad, Lynn, and Jordan; his grandchildren, Natalie, Drew, Jenna, Carli, and Talan. A celebration of life will be at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009 at Chapel of the Chimes. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Idaho Elks Rehab Hospital, Attention Grant Jones 600 N. Robbins Road Boise, ID 83702.
