Katherine Black Obituary

Katherine Anne Hinrichs Black
August 6, 1969 - October 24, 2022
Seattle, Washington - Katherine Hinrichs Black was born August 6,1969 in Boise and two weeks later she became the daughter of Wayne and Annette Hinrichs and sister to Kurt and Mark Hinrichs. She died October 24, 2022 in Seattle, Washington after a second battle with cancer. Her children Francesca and Teo were at her bedside at the time of death.
She grew up in Meridian and graduated from Meridian High School in 1987. She left Idaho and moved to Seattle to begin the adventure that was her life. She worked as a nanny and personal household assistant for multiple families. She came back to Idaho to work briefly as a substitute teacher and then moved to New Orleans on her way back to Seattle.
She went to work for Torrefazione Italia, a coffee company in Seattle where she met and married Emanuelle Bizzarri, the son of the company's founder. Later they moved to Perugia, Italy with her sister Hannah, where they spent three years. They returned to Seattle and Emanuelle began working with coffee blends and started his own company, Caffe Umbria. During this time they started their family and had two children, Francesca and Teo. While the children were still young their lives were forever changed by her diagnosis of breast cancer. For over a year she fought and eventually beat this cancer.
Katherine had always wanted to have her own business. In addition to opening her own coffee shop, she co-developed a universal online sizing business for clothing. She also experimented with games, furniture design, lighting, and many other endeavors. She found her true passion in her last venture staging houses for sale. Unfortunately, she was robbed of her ultimate success by a second diagnosis of cancer.
She was preceded in death by Grandparents: Lou and Alice Hinrichs, Harold Smith, Dorothy Vranish Smith. Aunt: Kay Hinrichs Prudhomme and Uncles:
Paul Prudhomme and Gary Hinrichs.
She is survived by her children, Francesca Bizzarri-Black and Teo Bizzarri-Black, parents Wayne and Annette Hinrichs, brother Kurt (Kristy) and children Kelsey and Karson, brother Mark (Michele) and children Justin and Taylor. Sister Hannah Furtado, Aunt Florine Smith, and Uncle Bill Hinrichs (Cheryl).

So sorry to hear of Kathy´s passing. My family has so many memories of her, including some very funny ones. She was part of our family growing up, never knocking, just walking in and making herself at home. So sorry I didn´t get to see her in recent times. She holds a special place in my heart. My sympathy and prayers for her loved ones.

I am deeply saddened to have not had one more chance to tell Kathy that it was ok. I was married to her and, while we parted, we reacquainted years later and made amends to one another. I felt like family to her brothers and parents. Wayne Hinrichs was such a mentor to me and Annette loved me well for the most part. I have moved on in my life, but would have loved to tell her good bye. I wish she'd let me know so I could talk with her just one more time. So sad to see her life cut short. She was once very special to me.

Sending my condolences. She made me laugh in those good days. Such a dynamic personality. I´m truly sorry for your loss.

I am so sad to hear of Kathy´s passing. She was a loyal friend who was a tremendous support during those awkward and difficult teenage years. I have often been regretful of not staying in touch as we grew older... I have many fond ( and hilarious) memories of her. My prayers are with her loved ones.
