Ken Trefaller Obituary

Ken Trefaller
1935 - 2018
Kenneth Robert Trefaller comfortably crossed the finish line at home on the evening of 5/14/18. Born to Ken and Estelle in Inglewood, CA on 11/22/35.
He attended school in the Westchester area of Los Angeles. After graduating from Westchester High School, he attended Loyola University where he participated in ROTC and subsequently went into the United States Air Force where he served for four years. After his passing, the first song that coincidentally played on the home stereo was one by his favorite singer (Frank Sinatra) "Come Fly With Me".
He enjoyed his life as an independent salesman and eventually as a stockbroker. His self-employment enabled him to always "Be There" for his family and friends. He loved attending all of his kids and grandson's sporting events.
He felt he had a great life as he was fiercely independent and honest. He hoped he instilled in his children how important it was to "just get up every morning and be able to look yourself in the mirror".
He enjoyed going to car races where his nephew, Tony Hunt, was driving, discussing politics, WWII history, going to movies, and last, but not least, "Best Ever" everything, but especially food.
In this lucky, close knit family, he is survived by:
• The love of his life, his caring wife of 62 years (8/19/1955) Carole. (Best Mom / Wife Ever).
• His two sons, Steve and his fiance Anita Northwood, Sun Valley, and Scott, close by in Meridian. Over the past few years Scott has provided endless support for our parents while Ken circled the life track under the yellow caution flag.
• Grandson, Sam Trefaller, of whom Ken was very proud. They spent many hours together as Sam was growing up and Ken enjoyed attending Sam's sporting events also.
• Younger sister Jeanie Hunt and husband Tommy, who were responsible for introducing Ken to motor sports. The entire family bonded over the years throughout the west attending many Western USAC Sprint Car Champion races, (including Meridian Speedway).
Ken was proceeded to the Winners Circle by "Daddy's Girl" Cynthia Anne in 1991 after 27 joyous years, as well as his parents and Carole's mother, Lucile Ritter.
In lieu of flowers and "loving fattening foods" please send your donation to:
First Choice Hospice, 12400 W. Overland, Ste 100, Boise, ID 83709.
There are not enough kind words for the professionalism, knowledgeable, responsive, loving, caring group of First Choice team members. We express our gratitude for their support over the past months.
A Celebration of Life will be announced for a date in early June.
