Kenneth Hagar Obituary

Kenneth "Ken" Martin Hagar
1950-2018
Kenneth "Ken" Hagar died on August 4, 2018 of kidney failure due to Polycystic Kidney Disease. At the time of his death, he was receiving hospice care at the Boise Veteran's Administration Community Living Center.
Ken was born on June 2, 1950 in Boise and grew up in Boise's north end, graduating from Boise High School in 1969. He attended Boise State and then enlisted in the US Navy. From 1973-1977 he served aboard the USS Harry E.Yarnell.
Ken lived In Los Angeles, CA and worked in automotive tire sales and management before returning to Boise where he worked in the food industry.
Ken was naturally talented musically and sang in a number of choirs throughout his life. While a member at University Christian Church, he also performed several piano/singing solos. Ken could quote musical lyrics appropriate for any occasion.
Ken will be missed for his sense of humor, his appreciation of the kindness of others, his amazing memory, his love of music and sports, and his spirit and strength in the face of health challenges.
Ken was preceded in death by his mother, Marion Hagar while he was in high school and more recently by his father and step-mother, Ted and Helen Hagar. He is survived by his sister Christine (Tim) Gleason, his uncle, Robert (Christy) Hagar, two nieces, three great-nieces and one great-nephew.
The family deeply appreciates the help and support given to Ken at Idaho Nephrology, particularly from his nephrologist, Dr. Nicholas Hunt, and the staffs at Tablerock Boise Dialysis, Syringa Home Dialysis, the Boise VA Medical Center, and the VA CLC Willow Hospice.
A family graveside service is planned for September.
