Larry Craig Obituary

Larry Lee Craig
February 24, 1941 - December 30, 2020
Boise, Idaho - Larry Lee Craig, age 79, passed away on December 30, 2020 at St.Luke's Hospital in Boise, Idaho. His beloved wife, Julie, and his precious daughter, Betina, were holding his hands as he passed.
Larry fought a valiant battle with acute myeloid leukemia for 14 long months. He fought this battle with every fiber of his being. He fought to the end with strength, dignity, and grace. Larry was born in Red Oak, Iowa on February 24, 1941, to Eleanor and Delbert Craig. Larry attended school in Twin Falls, Idaho. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served for 3 years, and was honorably discharged. The world lost one of the finest men on the planet, the day Larry died. Larry was a Golden Gloves Boxer, and Coach. He had a positive influence on the young men he coached. Larry was a licensed insurance agent for 50 years, 23 of which were in McCall, Idaho. Larry was elected to the McCall City Council, and served as fire and police commissioner. Larry was a member of the McCall Chamber of Commerce and served on the Board of Directors. Larry was the McCall Winter Carnival Chairman for many years and was very proud of that. He also started the Payette Lake Boat Parade. He was a member of the McCall Elks Lodge, as well as the Rotary Club.
Larry and Julie began playing the game of golf together on the same day, playing in McCall and Plantation Country Club, enjoying playing in tournaments and other events. At Plantation, he was a member of The Good Old Boys, and played with them twice a week.
Larry is survived by his loving wife, Julie, his daughter Betina Young,(Kenney) his granddaughter, Jordan Juhnke, grandson, Joshua Juhnke, and his beloved son-in-law, Ron Juhnke (June). Larry considered Ron Juhnke to be his son. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Liz Jacob (Jerry), and brother-in-law, Steve Nugent (Connie). He is predeceased by his brother, Lauren Craig, his daughter, Lacy Rae Heberlein, his sister-in-law, Marilyn Nugent Hendricks (Mike), his sister Lauretta Geiger, as well as his parents.
Speaking as his wife, Larry was a wonderful, kind, faithful husband and took such good care of me. He was my best friend and made me laugh every day. He told wonderful stories and had a great memory. We were fortunate to be married 40 years (not long enough), I will love him forever. I know he is resting in the arms of Jesus, free from pain, worry . No more suffering. God Bless You, Larry. Goodnight My Love. Bye for now.
