Payette, Idaho - Lawrence (Larry) Molt 81 of Boise, peacefully passed away December 10, 2024 at Ashley Manor Payette. Larry was born April 8, 1943 to Jenny Marie Hobbs Molt and Arthur William Molt in Hiawatha, Kansas.
Larry dedicated his life to his passion for cars and craftsmanship. He honed his skills at several body shops throughout Boise before opening his own. As the proud owner and operator of Essex Quality Auto Body, his skill and dedication shone brightly through his work. His expertise in restoring classic automobiles brought joy to many, leaving behind a trail of beautifully revived vehicles that captured the essence of automotive history.
Larry continued to work tirelessly in his shop until he made the difficult decision to close it, so he could devote his full attention to caring for his wife of 43 years, Bonnie Marie Hunter Molt, who required full-time care in her final years.
He leaves behind memories, tales of his skill, and a lasting influence on everyone fortunate enough to have known him. While his absence will be deeply felt, his love for cars and dedication will continue to inspire and live on in the hearts of those who remember him.
Larry is survived by his son, Jon Molt of Anchorage, AK; daughter, Leanna Davis of New Plymouth, ID; stepdaughters, Connie Chimonas and Sherry Fawcett (Ken); stepson, Don Gifford; and his sister, Gladys Kochel of Washington. He will be deeply missed by his extended family and many friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a local classic car club or school automotive program in Larry's honor.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Ashley Manor in Payette for the love and care extended to Larry during his time there, as well as to Horizon Home Health for their invaluable assistance in navigating his final months.
