Linda Cavanaugh Obituary

Linda Susan Cavanaugh 1944-2011 Linda Susan Cavanaugh passed away peacefully in her beautiful home at age 67 on 11/11/11. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Linda was born on June 14, 1944 in Long Beach, Calif., where she grew up. She was the last of three daughters born to Clayton and Marie Anderson. She graduated from St. Anthony's High School in Long Beach, Calif., in June, 1962 and eventually married John Cavanaugh on June 13, 1975. They raised three children, Theresa, David and Matthew, who have provided seven grandchildren between them. After her husband, John, retired, they moved to Idaho in February of 2005. Although born and raised in California, Linda fell in love with Idaho instantly and made many friends there in very little time. She loved home making and would have been a wonderful interior decorator had she chosen to do so. But her life revolved around her home and her family and she was most happy being there. She loved the holidays and always celebrated them with much love for her family and all who knew her. In addition to her immediate family, she is survived by her mother, Marie Anderson and her older sister, Mary Lou Delaney as well as her brothers-in-law, Mike and Gene, her daughters-in-law, Tami and Casi, her son-in-law, Drew and her grandchildren, Patrick, Dana, Ethan, Brenen, Aidan, Evan and Sydney. The family wishes to express gratitude to the many members of the medical community who strived to assist Linda in her 2 year fight against cancer. That would include members of the Huntsman Institute, Salt Lake City, Utah, Drs. Karl Schultheiss and Timothy Sawyer of St. Alphonsus Oncology Group and their staff, Boise, Idaho, Horizon Home Health and Hospice, Meridian, Idaho and Rob and Lisa Barresi of the Boise Surgical Group, Boise, Idaho. We are forever grateful for your efforts to fight this horrible disease. A reception will be held at 3 p.m., November 17, 2011 at the Plantation Country Club, 6515 West State Street, Boise for friends and family.
